I'm not familiar with their commentators, but their color guy has this to say about Max Ramirez's first home run (35 seconds into the video):

"I saw him play at triple-A last year, year before that and he was uh a pretty good player there. Taken him a little while, but boy he hit the heck outta that ball."

Hmm...Ramirez has never played above double-A, and is 23. Good scouting job!

Yeah...

I heard that too and was thinking WTF?

I realize though there are probably quite a few guys named Ramirez so he probably did see someone with that name last year, but it sure as hell wasn’t Max Power.

I really dislike it when a announcer pretends to know what he’s talking about. If you don’t know the kid then just keep your mouth shut.

Bill Brown and Jim Deshaies

Are the Astros TV guys.

I don’t know which one made that comment, but it sure does aggrivate me – I hate it when paid announcers blow it on live TV like that, because I know I could do a better job of reading up on, and keeping track of the opposing lineup.

It wasn't an announcer

It was a former player they had in the booth that inning. I wasn’t really paying attention because I hate having to listen to the Astros guys during Rangers games, but I did hear that and it made me laugh.

One petty thing of mine is I hate the way one of the Astros announcers says Kinsler. I don’t know which one it is, but it bugs me.

Other teams announcers...

Having to watch Ranger games with opposing teams broadcasters helps me realize how much I like Josh and Tom. I never really thought our guys were that special until I watched some games against KC and Houston recently. Pleasantly surprised by how much better our guys were.
