Someone in the other thread was asking where the Tri Cities are.

That’s where I live.

A little east of Idaho and a little north of Oregon, eastern Washington. Kennewick, Richland and Pasco. We’ve also got an Arena League 2 team. Some people are angry because they’re new in town and they’re more popular than the Americans.

I didn’t know we had Melhuse. Empty minor-league baseball games are kind’ve a downer.

oc to continue our discussion

All I’m saying is that Millwood sucked. Going 5 innings is not commendable when you give up 7 runs. Two innings more or less won’t break this bullpen. They’ll suck regardless.

I don’t expect better from Gabbard, but at 11 million dollars I do from Millwood. So he gets an empty golf clap from me. Being happy that the bullpen didn’t have to go any more is just a hollow moral victory, signifying nothing.

by Hull Fan on Jun 27, 2008 8:53 PM CDT   0 recs

Millwood

I was at the game last night. First Ranger game in person in several years since I moved down to H Town. Millwood made me ill….

by srptex on Jun 27, 2008 8:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

on the contrary...

...i think saving your bullpen… an already-tired bullpen (as i’ve stated)... a couple of innings… is huge.

that was all on him. no way Wash was taking him out.

and i’m not defending him… he was terrible. but, at least he went that far. the third and fourth… hell, the fifth inning were no picnics… but he sucked it up and got them out of the inning.

allowing runs but struck out 8 guys.

good pitch.

by DSheppard on Jun 27, 2008 8:57 PM CDT   0 recs

umm

that ball was 6 inches inside

by blueballlefty on Jun 27, 2008 8:59 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

no it wasnt

it was like 3 inches inside and moving toward the plate.

not actually a strike, but very commonly CALLED a strike.

2 games over 500 please.

by DSheppard on Jun 27, 2008 9:00 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I dont know what you were watching

but according to the pitch tracker on tv it was like 2 to 2 1/2 balls inside

by blueballlefty on Jun 27, 2008 9:01 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

what was grieve watching?

he literally said one ball width inside and 3-4 inches inside

2 games over 500 please.

by DSheppard on Jun 27, 2008 9:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

OK

4 inches or 6 inches neither is close doesnt matter now anyways lets go stache

by blueballlefty on Jun 27, 2008 9:03 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

well, when one understands that the called strikezone

is typically several inches wider than the actual plate, and the argument is rather the pitch is typically called a strike, it does matter.

2 games over 500 please.

Tempting.

I’m not really a fan of going to the games because it’s a big, boring empty stadium and teams playing A ball.

It’s not exactly a thrilling experience.

by philkid3 on Jun 27, 2008 9:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

George Brett owns the team, though.

I like to think if I go at some point he’ll happen to be visiting and I can. . . I dunno, see him.

by philkid3 on Jun 27, 2008 9:02 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I've got to NAHL games

which is a little worse than the CHL, but the games are fun especially if you have a rooitng interest. That Spokane team would be a lot of fun to see. You should go.
