Evan Grant with a McCarthy update

Evan Grant has an update on the Brandon McCarthy situation, after there were (apparently erroneous) reports that McCarthy had a setback...

Jon Daniels -- via Grant -- reports that McCarthy threw off a mound today, including breaking balls, and there have been no setbacks...

Good news...

JFE

Once again, she’s a moron.

She should have

done some research and got her facts straight before running her mouth.

She's too busy

Pandering in heaven knows what ways to Randy Galloway to get all her facts straight.

i don't wnat to read her article

but did she erroneously report that Bmac had a setback and did EG just lay the smack down? That would be awesome.

I don’t get it – if you’re a journalist you get your ass handed to you for reporting wrong information but if you’re a sports journalist, it doesn’t matter?

It matters to me

My first year in college I was a journalism major before changing to business. It’s the first thing they teach you after the 5 w’s get your facts straight.

Yes

That’s exactly what happened.

Floyd

interviewed Washington about the possibility of trading pitching. Considering JD doesn’t inform Wash about the future plans of the organization, interviewing him about possible trades makes no sense. She was lazy and instead of actually interviewing someone who could answer her questions, she settled for Wash. She also was lazy and didn’t check her facts and now looks like a fool, which is nothing new for her.

Here

“Everybody else is two years away, at least, with Matt Harrison being the possible exception. There are also the walking wounded, Thomas Diamond and Brandon McCarthy, but relying on them is silly. Diamond is a ways away, and McCarthy is a painfully slow healer, as evidenced by his latest setback in which he is once again off the mound in Arizona.”

Link

Not sure what happened the first time, but here is the link.

For posting that link?

Very true, but I might not use such a nice adjective.

No

I couldn’t get the link to work. I pasted it into the first two replies trying to use the little link tool (the one that looks like a chain) and it never appeared once I hit submit. Once I just pasted the link directly into the body of the message, it worked fine.

Thanks for the link...

she is not even a decent reporter. Joe Friday states it best, “Just the facts mam”. Note what she thinks…(or does not think).

imagine that JFE is wrong on her facts...

Looks liek she has been spending to much time with Galloway. I hate to say it but the overall baseball coverage in this town is poor and the sports coverage in general is starting to slip aswell.

The DFW area several years ago was rated in the Top 5 in the nation for sports print coverage, nad now we have completely fallen off the map.

Getting McCarthy back is likely to be a better thing for the Rangers than any of the deadline deals they could afford.

They could bowl over KC for Greinke, but I highly doubt that occurs. I think they should stand pat or go big on the trade market. I don’t like the idea of getting an 8th inning guy via trade. There are some arms that could be tested in that role this year anyway. Madrigal comes to mind… Whoop. There he is.
