Gabbard to the d.l., Madrigal up

Kason Gabbard is heading to the d.l. with elbow inflammation, per the DMN blog, and Warner Madrigal has been promoted.

Presumably, this means Luis Mendoza replaces Gabbard in the rotation, and I think Madrigal will have an opportunity to establish himself as a 7th/8th inning guy.  Big arm, by all accounts.

That's what I wanted...

But Brandon Puffer got the promotion instead.

Makes sense

since they lost a reliever and since Puffer has 115 innings of MLB experience and all

Complete utter niceness

It’s so fun to have a loaded system to draw from.

Seems like every week or so this season we’ve had a guy debut who I’m excited about.

Luis..

The soon to be ACE of our staff back in the rotation, a winning streak may loom.

Luis Madrigal...

dumbass. Geez.

Here’s a idea though. If you are excited about a player and think a big winning streak may “loom” due to him being brought up, then perhaps you should know his first name. Just throwin’ it out there.

Ok I'm dumb too...

after reading that again he was refering to Luis Mendoza in the rotation.

Still

Ace in capital letters? And a winning streak may loom due to Mendoza’s return to the rotation?

I don’t follow.

Yeah...

me either.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he was being sarcastic, but that needed to be worded a lot better.

I was surprised to read this from Joey and JP, though:

I agree with Mendoza getting a chance

But is there anyways Josh Rupe gets a chance to become a starter again?? The way he’s pitching in the bullpen should merit a chance…

He has the stuff, easily

but people question his durability and lack of K’s. He’s streaky with his strikeouts, which I find odd, yet he has still only given up 1 HR in 44.7 IP this year.

I think he’s young enough to still try it, but I would like to see him miss a few more bats.

That HR was courtesy of Dustin Pedroia

of all people … kinda random.

Throw strikes and don't walk people

and then you might have a future with the Rangers.

Damn...

this is nice and all, but I don’t know if there will be much left of OKC for me to be excited about when they come out here for 4 next month. It’s pretty much JMJ, Harrison and not much else right now.

Kometani, Teagarden, Diamond,

Cruz and Arias to some degree, with Hunter and Diamond around the corner perhaps…

finally got an exciting promotion to AA in Borbon…might not be the sexiest name, but it’s something
