Jake Westbrook to have T-J surgery

Another A.L. Central starter goes down...

This time, it is Jake Westbrook, who will be undergoing Tommy John surgery in the next week or two, and thus presumably won't be back until the second half of 2009.

WIld Card, here we come!

"One of you asked me once if I am a recent Red Sox fan. Sure, as recent as 1986...when my fellow UT Longhorns fan & Texan Roger Clemens was the Cy Young winner and one hell of a young man...who has used steroids, cheated on his wife, had about 10 bar fights, escaped a few DUIs, and I mean ESCAPED, fought with his teammates - but all the while loved his sons and the game. I'll take Clemens over Millwood and Padilla anyday.." - boxosiempregirl

^^^^ Wow, I would too. I guess that makes me the next John Schuerholtz.

it used to be

that once the rangers started playing badly, that the people that weren’t on here for Rangers stuff would just leave.

Now that the Rangers are just good enough to compete but not really good enough to talk about, we are getting crap. I honestly don’t mind the people, but the non ranger related content is annoying.

You know, I think AJM posted this

To let us know of a possible landing place for Millwood or Padilla, should the Indians get their shit together…

I liked Westbrook and thought he would be perfect in a Rangers uni,

but not now of course.

Millwood to Indians...

Padilla to Braves.

no

well, probably not. I want AAA pitchers if we trade away our two best. At this point, our problem really is pitching – starting and relievers. If you trade away your two best starters, you better get 4 that have a good chance to contribute next year.

makes much more sense to trade some of the position players.

If we

can get some young pitchers that are about ready to contribute, I would be all for that…

Add those guys with Hurley and Harrison, and our rotation is the rotation of the future…

after 1/4 mile

i thought there was NO WAY he was gonna lose.

boy was i wrong…

$5.5 million was lost on him today. 5.5 MILLION.

also said they sold his breeding rights for $53 million earlier this week.

if he had won the triple crown he would have been looking at min. of 100 mares in the next year at a min. of 300k a pop. WOW.
