Love how Salty
Drilled the ground with the ball right there.
"Would you mind walking a time or two so I could drive in some runs"? Milton Bradley
This is just
ridiculous…
Why does it seem like this happens every game?
"No bear or disco for Juan" - Mr. Santos
because lately
it DOES happen every game

Because it does
Feels like ground hog day.

because it has.

Because this is the Rangers
We inherently always have a part of our team that really, really blows. This year, that part is the bullpen.
i don't even think one day off is enough
this bullpen needs a week. such a bad confluence of events with the starting pitching.
Rare Gnats Sex
I wonder what that clubhouse is like right now.

How many baserunners has Salty thrown out in the majors this year?
His throwing mechanics looks really off right now

Salty
I like the way Salty seems to be getting more PT. he has his OBP up around .400 but he needs to start getting those jacks also, he definately doesn’t seem to be able to stay behind the plate with his poor arm though, something has to be fixed.
I just remember when we got him, played him at 1B, and he looked like a natural to me
II Cor. 4:17-18
he apparently doesn't like it there
and bats worse when he is. what are you going to do
Rare Gnats Sex
Don't think anything was said about 1B
But yeah, he looked worse at first than he did behind the plate last year.
At least the Feldman experiment
appears to be fruitful. Gotta like what we’ve seen this year. Hope he’s not the Koronka, Rheinecker, RA Dickey, Drese, etc. succeed-for-awhile-then-get-figured-out type.

If they decide to walk Shelton to pitch to Hamilton
Then somebody should be fired on the spot, manager, pitching coach, somebody would have to answer for that decision.

Okay
Things I don’t want to see again for a long time:
- Joaquin Benoit in the 8th inning
- Jamey Wright. Period.
- Gerald Laird popups
- Saltalamacchia passed balls
Not particularly applicable in tonight's game, but
bunts early in games.

Terrible couple of days
For the second straight day, every team in the system lost
Welp, I'm out
NBC has National Treasure on right now, so I’m gonna go loose myself in a crappy movie and purge my immediate thoughts about this game.
Later all.
OK who pitches tomorrow? I hope not a slug.

First
Our bullpen sucks then the two best hitters in the league right now can’t get two runs in. This is the most annoyed I’ve been all season.
Ha ha.
I was just watching Triple Play and I couldn’t remember who the fourth outfielder was.
It was Broussard. Ah…gone from my memory already.
the Rangers are 1 and 7 with Feldman on the mound..
poor Scooter! That boy has no luck.

Question
I had the sound turned down – who was the young guy sitting next to Nolan Ryan early in the game? Was that William Thompson from Grace Prep?
yeh the kid from Arlington they just drafted

well
that was disappointing. it was a pretty boring game to be at, then I felt like it was the best game to be at all year with just needing 2 baserunners out of hammy/milton/murph or one big hit from hammy/bradley. and.. nothing.
sigh.
anyway, i dont suppose anyone knows the password to log onto the wifi thats in the ballpark =( ? wanted to log on my little mini eee pc.
Bring up Justin Smoak
oh and
i dont have the will to look through all the threads. did i miss any info on the starter situation or anything?
Bring up Justin Smoak
I hate that.
That there is a password to wifi at stadiums.
AT mavs games, I can never get on the internet.
Pisses me off.
"No bear or disco for Juan" - Mr. Santos
im
so tired of salty letting guys steal and never blocking balls in the dirt
and also great job by washington puttting in benoit again just so he can blow the game and then when we are only down by one run he doesn’t put the closer in the ninth like every other team would
yeh what was that about?
not putting C J in in the 9th. Dumb Dumb Dumb.

Yeah, that's just what we need to compliment a struggling bullpen
Another guy who walks everybody, and allows all his inherited runners to score.
by LSJ on Jun 8, 2008 2:56 AM CDT up reply actions
i could care less about inherited runners right now, at least he had a good era so if he came into an inning at the beginning, he would not let in a run, like we needed in the 8th and 9th last night
Ive
been trying to say that for awhile now, nobody wants to listen though.
"No bear or disco for Juan" - Mr. Santos
so...
you’d keep a reliever around that you cant trust with men on base and ONLY use to start an inning?
sounds like a wasted roster spot to me.
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
If you put CJ
Wilson in the positions German was put in, he would have done the same thing.
"No bear or disco for Juan" - Mr. Santos
you think so?
heck, german has such a good era, he should have been the closer. hell he should have been a starter!
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
Salty
never blocking balls in the dirt
That’s not true. His blocking is much improved. Maybe not gold glove caliber, but Laird has gone through periods where he hasn’t been able to block shit at the plate (namely this April).
I’ll give you his arm, that obviously needs improvement, but I get awfully tired of the bitching about the rest of his defensive game, like he’s some kinda chump out there. Remember, the guy who throws the damn pitch has a little something to do with WP’s/PB’s as well, and our bullpen has been awfully wild lately.
by LSJ on Jun 8, 2008 2:53 AM CDT up reply actions
so, i see the rangers lost
and it’s because of the pen again. yay!
i have no idea why madrigal, littleton, laughter, X, y, Z, are not up here taking these players places. I’m tired of this.
Laughter
Look at his peripherals in AA. Not good.
by Adam J. Morris on Jun 8, 2008 9:36 AM CDT up reply actions
well
he only has 11 IP in AA. But, his minor league numbers; he has 49 Ks to 16BB in 58 minor league innings. He has a very respectable WHIP, ERA is nasty, and he DOES NOT give up homers, he’s given exactly ZERO. I don’t have any problem with those numbers, do you?
