Around SBN: The Worst Season of Francisco Rodriguez's Career Bar-right-arrows

OT - Marlins looking for Catcher & RP

www.mlbtraderumors.com website says that the Marlins are looking for a catcher and a right handed RP.

How about  Salty and F. Francisco for Volstad, Ryan Tucker, Matt Dominguez.

Volstad is rated around where Hurley is. BA ranks Volstad 58th overall.

Tucker is 21 years old and is in the majors but isn't pitching well.  He gets a SO/9 at around 8.  I think it was a mistake for him to jump from AA to the Majors.  I think he's a solid prospect.

Dominguez is 19 is a 3B in LoA batting .320, OPS .858, 4 homers in 125 AB's.

I think Dominguez fills a hole at 3B and can be our future starter.

Volstad is FLA's top prospect, Tucker #3, and Dominguez #7

I think this trade would be absolutely perfect for us but I don't know if FLA would do this.

One little problem

You state that they are looking for a right handed RP. Guardado is a lefty.

Yes, but Francisco isn’t.

The marlins also want a Veteran catcher, like Laird

who’s on the DL.

Signature! I don't need no stinking signature!!

Other rumors

Rosenthal says the Mets, Yanks, and Brewers are all interested in Padilla. Gammons say the Cubs might like Milly.

Do it.

Millwood for anything involving Rich Hill.

Why not?

you wouldn’t be able to get Hill straight up if he was pitching like he was last year. He’s struggling with control and is in the minors but he’s shown what he can do at the MLB level, which was pretty damn good. Hill won’t be the only piece but he’d be the main prize.

5.88 era in AAA this year

he’s 28 and his service time started in ‘05.

in short, this isnt a 2006 prospect watch.

He

very well may have lost it and never pitches like he did again. But a change of scenery, a lefty pitcher…. I’d be willing to take that chance.

oh for sure

but u can get him for a lot less than Millwood and its probably a good time to buy low on the guy, but not for millwood.

maybe for byrd and a reliever…

I assume there is more in the package

not just Hill. But he’s a guy I’d like to buy low.

Am I

the only one that saw Hill’s 1st AAA start were he didnt make it out of the first inning

i think teams

will low-ball us for Padilla. For whatever reason, people don’t give Padilla any credit, and teams will act like they are doing us a favor by eating his contract and sending over the next Drew Meyer.

Don't trade Salty

He will be your best catcher of the future, also will be better than laird.

Also the trade deadline is 4 weeks away right?

Im sure that Laird could be atleast off the DL if not ready to come back by then, they said 4 to 6 weeks right? He got hurt what 1 week ago?

by SaltyGoesYard on Jul 1, 2008 3:03 PM CDT   0 recs

It will be close

and not enough time for him to establish anything, just to show that he’s basically healthy, if that.

by zywica on Jul 1, 2008 3:08 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Why trade Frankie?

He seems to have found “it”.

Chris Davis is a beast.

by coolaid on Jul 1, 2008 3:09 PM CDT   0 recs

He has been playing well

That’s why he would be enticing for FLA. I can also see him being like Benoit (he was solid last year) and then stinks it up next year.

To get Volstad, Tucker, and Dominguez would be AWESOME! You have to give up something to get something.

by Coolbean04 on Jul 1, 2008 3:17 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Tough for a catcher

to bounce back quickly from a “pulled” hammy, it did look a little worse than a pull, atleast by his reaction. I hope I’m wrong. .02

can dominguez be traded yet

Can be

traded as a Player to be Named Later.

Chris Davis is a beast.

by coolaid on Jul 1, 2008 9:50 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Oh, yeah

duh. They can name a player up to 6 months after the deal I think.

If they are interested...

in a catcher that’s fine see what they would give for Laird/Salty.

I don’t deal Fx2 right now.
