A win tonight...
and the Rangers are guaranteed to celebrate freedom on the 4th above .500.

Not to be negative
But I think we get our faces smashed in tonight.
Joba is gonna get ROCKED.
He threw 114 pitches last time out… He will be destroyed.
"Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?"
Well, it looks like I won't be at the game tonight.
My work schedule changed, as it tends to do in the Navy, and I was unable to get away this afternoon. The good news is that I was able to secure my day off for tomorrow to witness the Mendoza vs. Ponson showdown!
Tomorrow’s game is the one I wanted to attend anyway. Like I said before, I will be sure to get plenty of pictures. I also plan on getting there way early to get some autographs and watch Hamilton practice for the Home Run derby in a few weeks.
My sister and brother in law
are in the Navy. Thanks for your service!!

Madonna and A Rod.. may be an item.

My gf has problems though…. She’d take FOTF over Kins. I’m straight and I think she’s crazy as hell
"Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance?"
She's nuts ..
Kins is wayyy hotter than FOTF.. and FOTF is probably the most boring sex imaginable..with those skinny lit’l arms.. euwwwwww

+ 1 can you imagine FOTF

I think Joba dominates us....
we always seem to be dominated by the Yankees young pitchers.
I remember being at the game when Hughes had a no-hitter in the 8th and left with an injury.
I also think Millwood gets beat up some….no way this team wins 2 in a row at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees win 7-1.

i really really dont....
like byrd in the lineup everyday!! Boggs has played better and is younger!!!
yep
byrd over boggs is pretty much the only nagging problem that keeps cropping up with the lineup these days
Is Byrd being showcased though?
I hope so…
by booyahcaveman on Jul 1, 2008 5:35 PM CDT up reply actions
at what point
does the potential return in a trade after showcasing byrd outweigh the cost of hurting boggs’ development?
Good Question..
I have no idea. Either play Boggs or send him down to AAA. He needs at bats.
by booyahcaveman on Jul 1, 2008 5:43 PM CDT up reply actions
Byrd
.277/ .354/ .420 since coming off the DL. Hes been really good and plays a really good CF.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Small awesome result from yesterday's win.
It boosted us, for the first time, as likely to finish .500 (rounding up) in BP’s un-adjusted playoff odds.
Our average finish with PECOTA adjustments is still 79.4-82.6.
I'd rather have byrd playing than boggs.
Byrd plays awesome defense and sometimes comes up with the big hits basically they both can’t hit that good but byrd plays better D
The funny thing about my back is that its located on my cock.
chris davis had a 1.1 ops in AAA
boggs was at .824 when he was called up.
davis > boggs, byrd > shelton
that said, byrd certainly doesnt need to be playing 15 consecutive games, boggs should be in there more often.
really what id prefer is byrd to the bench, boggs to AAA, and give cruz his last chance. no not because i tihnk boggs sucks, I just want to give cruz his last shot.
2 games over 500 please.

I was talking to a co-worker/Yankees fan today
I was astounded by the differences in our mindset.
He HATES that Girardi is calling up young guys. He doesn’t like putting “rookies out there who don’t know how to hit.”
We, on the other hand, could not have been more excited to see the likes of Davis, Ramirez and Hurley come up.
I just found it interesting.
Did you ask him...
...at what point he thought the Yanks should play rookies?
Or does he think they should just be traded?

murphy scored
and he should have tried to tag up. what’s byrd’s excuse. he should have been half way to first at least by the time the ball hit off the base of the wall
Rare Gnats Sex
Byrd
He was half way to 2nd. Murph initially got held at 3rd but got waved home late. Too late for Byrd to go to 3rd.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
ok
but the fact remains Murph was initially held at 3rd. Byrd couldn’t go to third
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
yes it is
You can’t get to third if the guy in front of you is being held originally. Theres alot of factors that went into that play but Byrd does not suck for not getting to third on that play. Even if he had been half way to 2nd when Murph was getting the stop sign at 3rd Byrd would have had to stop at 2nd anyway.

As deep as that ball was, there’s no way either is being doubled off a base at a halfway point if that thing is caught.

Well he made a huge jump from Frisco to Arlington.
Can’t expect him to translate it in a platoon/bench situation.
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)
Really?
I mean atleast Murton has options left so if he sucked like this we could send him to OKC.
by blueballlefty on Jul 1, 2008 7:13 PM CDT up reply actions
i already knew that
he has like a 715 ops overall and is worse against righties.
the point was its not like hes been a lot better than byrd v them. 6 ops points is statistically meaningless.
2 games over 500 please.
I think the point to play Boggs
Is that he’s younger and needs the PT more over 15 games to improve than Byrd. Or to re-phrase, Boggs has more potential than Byrd.
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)
Yes, but
The point is, if Boggs is just going to do about the same thing as Byrd right now (and vice versa), wouldn’t you rather play him because of his potential?
by LSJ on Jul 1, 2008 7:16 PM CDT up reply actions
its not like I have some huge preference for byrd
but people are complaining every time byrd makes an out v a righty, and I think its because hes sucking, not because hes not a prospect. and i dont think boggs would be doing any better.
but yeah sure he shold play more and byrd should play less. ive said as much many times. i just think its being overdone a bit. boggs isnt a super prospect or something. hes probably a 4th OF anyway.
2 games over 500 please.

+1
I have mixed feelings on it.
I’d love to see him in that spotlight, showing off his swing.
But, like you said, I’m afraid of the post-derby slump.

well at least those 2 outs saw 5 pitches each.
make sure joba is gone after 5 at the max, possibly after 4.
2 games over 500 please.
Salty is really starting to show me that he deserves the starting job permanently.
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)
Something tells me that I wouldn't be terribly opposed to that idea either...

Andrus at SS, rather.

Yep, I would be fine with that.
Andrus at SS of course, which you corrected. MY at 3rd, Kinsler at 2nd. Hammy, maybe Bradley and Murph. I like that idea.
My three favorite numbers: 10, 32, 36. =)
I think (hope at least)
That Mayberry will be starting instead of Murphy on the future team.

think theres any chance the votes wont count if i just put in random emails
that dont exist?
2 games over 500 please.
I doubt it.
how are they going to check?
by The Best Micah on Jul 1, 2008 7:37 PM CDT up reply actions
well emails would bounce back
but they probably dont care enough to deal with subtracting such votes.
2 games over 500 please.
they might have an automatic system set up
to do it for them. wouldn’t really take a lot of sophistication, but it’s also the mlb.

maybe
i’m sure if they get 25 votes from an email account that bounces back to them they may subtract those votes
