Joba is gonna get ROCKED.
He threw 114 pitches last time out… He will be destroyed.

Well, it looks like I won't be at the game tonight.
My work schedule changed, as it tends to do in the Navy, and I was unable to get away this afternoon. The good news is that I was able to secure my day off for tomorrow to witness the Mendoza vs. Ponson showdown!
Tomorrow’s game is the one I wanted to attend anyway. Like I said before, I will be sure to get plenty of pictures. I also plan on getting there way early to get some autographs and watch Hamilton practice for the Home Run derby in a few weeks.

I think Joba dominates us....
we always seem to be dominated by the Yankees young pitchers.
I remember being at the game when Hughes had a no-hitter in the 8th and left with an injury.
I also think Millwood gets beat up some….no way this team wins 2 in a row at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees win 7-1.

like byrd in the lineup everyday!! Boggs has played better and is younger!!!

i hav to agree
i wonder how much byrd plays has to do w/ what he did last yr
by Andrew L on Jul 1, 2008 5:32 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
yep
byrd over boggs is pretty much the only nagging problem that keeps cropping up with the lineup these days
by tangiers on Jul 1, 2008 5:32 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs

I hope so…

at what point
does the potential return in a trade after showcasing byrd outweigh the cost of hurting boggs’ development?
by tangiers on Jul 1, 2008 5:41 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Good Question..
I have no idea. Either play Boggs or send him down to AAA. He needs at bats.
by booyahcaveman on Jul 1, 2008 5:43 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Small awesome result from yesterday's win.
It boosted us, for the first time, as likely to finish .500 (rounding up) in BP’s un-adjusted playoff odds.
Our average finish with PECOTA adjustments is still 79.4-82.6.
by philkid3 on Jul 1, 2008 5:52 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
I'd rather have byrd playing than boggs.
Byrd plays awesome defense and sometimes comes up with the big hits basically they both can’t hit that good but byrd plays better D
The funny thing about my back is that its located on my cock.

u...
prob liked chris shelton over davis a few weeks ago too!! Dumb!
by bhuckabee on Jul 1, 2008 5:54 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
chris davis had a 1.1 ops in AAA
boggs was at .824 when he was called up.
davis > boggs, byrd > shelton
that said, byrd certainly doesnt need to be playing 15 consecutive games, boggs should be in there more often.
really what id prefer is byrd to the bench, boggs to AAA, and give cruz his last chance. no not because i tihnk boggs sucks, I just want to give cruz his last shot.

I was talking to a co-worker/Yankees fan today
I was astounded by the differences in our mindset.
He HATES that Girardi is calling up young guys. He doesn’t like putting “rookies out there who don’t know how to hit.”
We, on the other hand, could not have been more excited to see the likes of Davis, Ramirez and Hurley come up.
I just found it interesting.

He was half way to 2nd. Murph initially got held at 3rd but got waved home late. Too late for Byrd to go to 3rd.

yes it is
You can’t get to third if the guy in front of you is being held originally. Theres alot of factors that went into that play but Byrd does not suck for not getting to third on that play. Even if he had been half way to 2nd when Murph was getting the stop sign at 3rd Byrd would have had to stop at 2nd anyway.

As deep as that ball was, there’s no way either is being doubled off a base at a halfway point if that thing is caught.
