by blueballlefty on Jul 1, 2008 7:57 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
I said
Byrd was showing that he is on more of a hot streak than a cold streak and shouldn’t be benched completely because he does still have trade value. But w/e, you know me better than I do.

nope
dont know you just know what you said and you said it made sense for him to start 14 games in a row and sited some OPS that you came up with for like the odd number of AB’s on cloudy days or something of like .900
by blueballlefty on Jul 1, 2008 8:01 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
You said he was on a massive cold streak
I said he actually had a hit in 4 straight games with a couple of those hits being for extra bases and a couple of walks in one of those games. With the addition of his great defense and how he is probably being showcased for a trade, it makes sense to play him.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

Murphy used to draw a lot of praise for his CF defense in Boston
He’s started 9 games out there this year, and has looked pretty darn good to me. I don’t think having Murphy playing CF would be too much of a hit to the OF defense, if any.

but not bunting isn’t a terrible move. bunting is kind of a gutsy call that can be justified but it isn’t what you’re supposed to do with a contact hitter.
