Loe and Diaz up, Littleton and Feldman down
Per Richard Durrett, the Rangers have called up Kam Loe, purchased the contract of Joselo Diaz, and optioned Wes Littleton to AAA and Scott Feldman to AA.
The Rangers' 40 man roster is now full, with the addition of Diaz, although I can't imagine he'll be occupying a spot for long. But we now have a couple of fresh arms in the pen, should Luis Mendoza implode.

Remember when we traded for Matt Stairs a few years ago?
He’s the guy we gave up to get Stairs.

Feldman
Great move by JD. He isn’t gonna start before the break again and in 10 days he can be recalled and should be right on schedule. Smart smart move

...and Wes?...

Both will be out of options after this season

Question on options
Now that they’ve called him up Littleton twice already this year and optioned him back, does that mean that they used two options on him or is it just one for the whole year??

Just one for the whole year.
It’s not an option each time they’re sent down.

Mendoza won't imploded
He’ll pitch a gem tonight just so he remains on the SP prospect bubble.

For Mendoza, this is a gem. BTW, I also called the bullpen start last Wed. I have to go check the flights to Vegas.

Kam
I still think he’s best suited as a LRP. I approve of him coming up and Feldman down, but isn’t sending LIttleton down a little premature? I know he threw a lot last night, but there’s always tomorrow or Sunday.

Loe
Hes not coming up to take Feldmans spot in the rotation. He and Diaz are coming up for bullpen help. Feldman won’t pitch again before the ASB and with that he can be sent down and recalled in 10 days and not miss a start. This move is simply to give our bullpen some help while we are so depleted.

I agree that it's a smart move to option Feldman...
But what in the hell are they thinking in making him start while he’s down there? The guy needed the ASB to get a BREAK. He’s throwing probably triple the innings he did last year, assuming he remains healthy, and they want to make him start during the break? I don’t understand that at all.
Ian Kinsler has finally earned the right to be the third of my co-favorite players.

ya he needs a break, you sure hes starting down there?
Kinsler is the best player on the rangers(done), BENOIT SUCKS(done), bring up Harrison(done),new: Put Nippert in rotation, Mendoza to the pen, get Feliz to AAA by the end of the year, trade cat

maybe, just possibly
he’s being demoted for real. just tossing that out there.
Millwood
Padilla
Hurley
Harrison
Mendoza/Nippert
Warner Madrigal is the Rangers most underrated prospect by a longshot; he SHOULD be be closing games within 3 years IMO. Matt Harrison is underrated too.

I like it.
Feldman (our most consistent SP until last night) was a RP before this season. He has shown that he can pitch in the bigs and I would be cautious about stretching him out too much too fast.
While we are 3 games over .500 there are six other AL teams with better records. Only four make it to the playoffs. Let Hurley and Harrison break into the rotation now even though it is rushing their development IMO. Nippert and Mendoza get a chance and sooner or later the injury streak will hopefully stop. Get BMac, Gabby or any of the other 6 pitchers back off the DL and see what kids we keep for 09 and what kids need more time in AAA.

heh thats pretty crazy
constant 10 run outings. but no, not yet. i mean last night… that was completely on feldman. I doubt ramirez was asking that he walk everyone.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is

I have a feeling
after the all-star break we’ll go on a 6 or 7 game winning streak.
