OT - Brett Favre
I don't post on here often, but I need another avenue other than bitching to my buddies about how much I hate this man.
I have never seen an athlete in all of my life that needs as much attention as this douchebag. This includes Terrell Owens. For the last five years, we have had to listen over and over and over about will he or won't he retire. Well guess what a**hole, no one outside of your small Wisconsin town cares whether you play or not.
On top of this idiot constantly craving attention, ESPN continues to make this the most pressing issue in the world of sports. Now I'm assuming most of the LSBers are just as annoyed as I am about the content that ESPN puts out on a daily basis judging by what I read on here. But I think the coverage of Favre trumps even the Yankee/Red Sox coverage. I literally can not watch 20 minutes of ESPN without hearing or reading about this idiot. You sent a text message to your GM? Guess what Brett, NOT ONE PERSON GIVES A SH*T.
I haven't even gotten started on the level of mediocrity that this guy has shown over the last half decade. You can look all over the league to find QB's that are far more efficient and keep their teams in games because they don't make mistakes like this guy.
Brett, you and your Wranglers can retreat to your house in Mississippi (how do I know he has a house in Mississippi? Because ESPN shoves it down my throat every offseason) and never be heard from again.
Thanks

and no, I’m not watching Fox Sports.

for real
I used to get upset with their drivel, but now I just don’t watch except the occasional Baseball Tonight. And that’s it.
I’m a happier person now.

Couldn't agree more
I still remember that Monday night game last year against the Broncos, where all ESPN did was praise him for his achievements. It was as if he was in the middle of his Hall of Fame Induction rather than a game

Falcons
I think he’ll be traded to the Falcons. He lives in nearby Mississippi and they could let Matt Ryan hold the clip board for a year or two. And he was originally drafted by the Falcons so it would be fitting.
Another possibility is the Redskins. They are switching to the West Coast offense this year and Campbell has had 4 different systems in 4 years while in the NFL. The Redskins Offensive Coordinator is from Holmgren’s coaching tree and Favre could pick it up pretty easily.

Brett is a real jackass for this...
He’s putting that organization in a terrible position…
You bring him back, and you risk losing Aaron Rodgers mentally heading forward. This kid has been preparing all summer to be the starting quarterback for that football team. You bring Brett back now and give him his job back, there’s no way Rodgers’ head stays 100% into what’s going on in Green Bay. Then you’re looking at a wasted first round pick on a kid you never gave a shot…
You release him and he goes to Minnesota or Chicago? That’s gonna be a damn tough pill for the fan base to swallow come opening night against Minnesota when Brett’s number is supposed to be retired at Lambeau…
He shouldn’t have retired immediately after the season in the first place, because you could tell during his press conference that this was going to bubble to the surface sooner rather than later… As flaky as he’s been with this crap the last two or three years, he should have taken more time to make this decision in the beginning, and it wouldn’t be an issue now…
But now he’s going to get a free pass from the media, and the Packers organization will end up taking the shot for this thing one way or another. I’ve never been a Brett Favre hater, but he’s really coming across like a snake in this situation…

move
It’s time for the Packers to move on. Favre is the one who looks like an idiot.

favre
I’m as big a favre fan as they come, i loved watching him play and think he’s one of the alltime greats.
but the guy is destroying his legacy and credibility here. he decided to retire, if he had second thoughts then he has 2 choices, see if the pack wants him back or stay retired.

The guy has only won 1 Super Bowl
So has Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, Ben Roethlisberger, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Doug Williams, Earl Morrall, Len Dawson, Ken Stabler, and others. We don’t canonize them. Hell, most of them aren’t even the Hall of Fame. The guy is good but he’s not the greatest ever. He’s not even the greatest of his generation. I would take Steve Young and Troy any day of the week over Favre. Yes, he’s fun to watch because he takes risks. And yes he brought back Green Bay and isn’t it cool so small they are and how devoted their fans are. Gag!
Who cares? I hope the guy goes to Tampa or Baltimore because both of those teams visit Texas Stadium this year and we know how Brett does here. The crown on the field hurts him. Boo hoo. Go take some Vicodin and find John Madden to cry to.

Lay off the guy
ever since Ted Thompson took over as the GM he has tried to run him off! Thats rediculous, this guy is a top5 QB of all time, and now the Packers brass is trying to paint him as the bad guy!

Uhh are you sure about top 5??
Right off the top of my head : Unitas, Ghram, Bradshaw, Staubach, Montana, Aikman, Elway, Young and Brady were all better.

all time nfl
passing leader and passing td leader (though also the int. leader). i can see the arguments for an against him being in the top 5 of all-time but regardless he is one of THE all-time greats

Well...
if its not winning, how would you base how good quarterbacks were??

By their talent.
But that’s just me I guess.
I’m talking about talent and you’re talking about success. Talent has a lot more to do with how “good” they were than success, which has a lot to do with the team around them. See, e.g., Dan Marino.

I see that
but the thing with talent is that it always doesn’t pan out. There have been guys all over the NFL, who have at some level proven they have talent (i.e. college), but have never been able to put it together.

attention
So why are you giving him the attention he wants by posting a rant? Ignore it and go on, somehow, with life.
