OT: Tony Snow dead
I was very saddened by the news that Tony Snow passed away this morning. I often times listened to his radio show growing up before he became White House Press Secretary for a time. He was always such a nice, charming, optimistic guy who stuck to his beliefs in every situation.
I know he was the original host of Weekend Live on FoxNews, and I know he also did many other positive things of note in the public eye before I was around. He will surely be missed...

tool of the most corrupt white house of our lifetime (well maybe not ed’s) and talking head for fox news…
i hate to see ppl pass on no matter who they are, but if every person in that mold were to pass it would make this country better.

Uncalled for
I didn’t particularly like him either, but I still hated to see him get sick and die. The country is not a better place because people with a certain viewpoint die. The country would be a horrible place if everyone thought exactly as I did, or as you did, or as Tony Snow did.

In total agreement. My ideology is the opposite of Tony but he came across as a kind and generous man. He gave a good fight and it’s sad to see children lose their father. But on don’t speak ill of the dead there is one exception his name is Jerry Falwell only because he made a living on speaking ill of the dead.

Yah, there are of course exceptions
No one seems to shy away from speaking ill of truly evil men.

...Tony Snow killed your friend’s kid?
You could say that Tony Snow was a bad guy, but people would say he is just doing his job, doing what he is told.
You could say that your friend’s kid was a bad guy (after all, he was out to kill people), but people would say that he is just doing his job, doing what he is told.
The point is, it’s all about perception.

1st im not apologizing for ripping some guy whose position is to cover that mans ass. ever. thats a shit job and he had to be a half shit person to even consider the position.
2nd any time any guy who is around here for a while says something controversial a bunch of fresh meat goes after the guy b/c its easy and they think it gets them somewhere. dont think every1 doesnt know it.
3rd that president the guy he was paid to spew lies for, is in a war that has lasted longer than the civil war, longer than ww1 and longer than ww2 and that war is bankrupting our country (recession isnt b/c your a whiner its b/c they have borrowed so much money to pay for a war that its crashed the dollar)
the USSR didnt fall b/c the shit didnt work (even though it didnt) it fell b/c bread cost 70 rubles a loaf. if we get another guy who keeps us on the exact same path, texas will be a country by the end of the century.

You are completely missing the point
No matter what your feelings are on the war (personally I think it was idiotic) I would still not wish death on the president, VP, Rummy, Snow, or anyone else remotely involved.
You can say they were wrong. You can even say there were criminally wrong, if you feel that way. But you cannot say “Oh, goody, he died” without a lot of people saying you’re an asshole. And that’s besides the point that your anger seems completely misdirected. A press secretary does not set, or even influence, policy.
And your point #2 above is completely asinine. Your statement was not controversial, it was just mean spirited and stupid.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

someone who would put themselves in the position of disseminating misinformation to the public (whether you think he knew or not) is responsible for the outcome of that act. If he didn’t know (or didn’t want to know) that is just as bad and makes a case that he was not as smart as some people would like to point out here.

normally id be with ya on that historically, but the facts are this admin is one of the top 4 or 5 most corrupt and crony-filled in all of US history and tops in our generation and well, it “aint all the same” these days.
i know what a good conservative government is, and conservatives dont bankrupt and crash the dollar through unsustainable long term budgets.
and now we have phil grahm telling us the economy is in the shitter b/c people are whiners? how about the economy being in the shitter b/c the doollar crashed b/c the government is borrowing more money every week to pay for a war than this country is making per week. its common sense in business. for some reason, with government conservatives and deficit go hand in hand.

Liberals don't...
have a great fiscal track record, either.
Clinton deficit reduction was tied mostly to the boom 90’s, and if you think the boom 90’s were a result of a specific guy or party being in office, Mr. Santos would like to speak to you about Juan Dominguez over a few bears.

deserves some credit, along with the congress that worked with him, for the surplus years. I have complained many times that the GOP is anything but conservative, but the Democrats are hardly paragons of virtue when it comes to budget matters.

I’ll be sure to bring up irrelevant information and talk about how happy I am that the world is rid of him.
Oh wait, only pieces of shit like yourself would ever do that. You’ll probably find me acting like 99% of “humans” would act like.
btw, your point #2 you listed earlier IS asinine. If your “fresh meat” was aimed at myself, then you don’t know what you’re talking about. We’ve been around here just as long, and if you’re basing your “status” on the # of comments you’ve made, that’s even more pathetic considering how completely worthless some of your comments are (such as the ones in here). your day you created your login.
shove it, newbie. and no, im not basing it on number of posts, im basing it on the time you have spent here as a community member, its easy to go after people you dont know in a community for brownie points on a topic you know is easy for you to position yourself. most ppl here have known and discussed issues with each other for for years. you dont appear to be one of those, or you were and changed your login for some reason. either way, your login created date isnt even since the beginning of the season.
PS: i dont give 2 craps about stephanopoulos, or the clintons for that matter. one reason: “most favored nation trade status” for china
“I am moving, therefore, to de-link human rights from the annual extension of Most Favored Nation trading status for China.”—President Bill Clinton, announcing MFN status for China, White House, 5-26-94.

that increasing spending and cutting taxes has a tendency to make deficits explode.

A highly accomplished, very bright and good man died today at age 53. He was also the loving father of 3. This isn’t about political hatred but about saying and doing the right thing.
