His usual overreaction, but I think he says it quite eloquently. At least, I enjoyed it!

He really doesn't like Nancy Reagan

He took a shot at her last night and another in this article.

Agree - awful stuff from Gammons

1 – IMO, the msg in Josh’s story is the drastic change in decision making he’s made – from horrible decisions to wonderful decisions. The essense of his msg is that the biggest impact between success and failure dealing with drugs is sourced within you. Just say no. It can be easily argued that Josh’s story validates Nancy rather dismisses her.

2 – Gammons claims, “These are not the best of times in America…” Idiocy. These are the best of times for any living sentient being in any known location in any dimension at any time in known history. Reality is directly found 180% from Gammons declaration.

Pretty disappointed that Jamey Newberg hyped and endorsed this drivel with his NMLR.

Confused...

How exactly is this “These are the best of times for any living sentient being in any known location in any dimension at any time in known history.”?

Yeah
These are the best of times for any living sentient being in any known location in any dimension at any time in known history.

Really like the way you put that, dude.

I hate the lazy sentiment in whatever variation of Gammons’ quote. It definitely doesn’t require a baseball talking head to hear it. I could not agree with the second part of your rebuttal more.

Drug addition

Gammons is right that it is a disease once you get started. Addiction does crazy things to the brain, and it isn’t just a light switch that people can turn off after a while.

The trick is, even for the most hard core addict-the type who is addicted on the first try, such as Josh – you still have to try it once to get addicted. There is a personal decision there. The best way to keep from being addicted to drugs is to never try them in the first place. Nancy Reagan had that right.

And while recovery isn’t easy, it is still entirely about a decision to want to recover. And the personal strength to stick to that decision. I have tremendous respect for Hamilton (and people like him), both because I have known addicts and because I am familiar with the neuroscience behind what he went through.

I kind of liked 8 years ago better

when we had $4 trillion less debt, the world’s Banking System wasn’t on the verge of collapse, and the Dollar was actually worth something.
