Matsui setback; Bonds to Yankees?
If I were a Yankees fan it would make sense to me, and these quotes from Cashman make it sound like this is a more than realistic possibility.
Here's the link: http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/8347236/Matsui-rehab-hits-snag;-Yanks-may-look-at-Bonds?CMP=OTC-K9B140813162&ATT=49
The Yankees seem to be in the process of selling their souls to the devil.
OMG THERE WAS JUST A HUGE LIGHTNING STRIKE LIKE RIGHT DOWN THE STREET, AND NOW HAIL, I SHOULD GET OFF, BYE!!!

heh
in the article- “I would caution everybody to not misunderstand that since I’m not saying no to it, that that means, ‘Oh my gosh, that that might be happening down the line.”
i reallllly doubt this happens.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is

Doubt it'll happen
Can’t Cashman just give us Austin Jackson for MB? :)

I hope you're kidding...
All Star OF/DH with a 1.000+ OPS (and he’s not an aging player on the downside of his career, so let’s not make that ‘we’d be getting a younger talent’ rebuke)
versus
prospect who might or might not become a good player. Easy answer.

Mmk
The smiley was supposed to indicate that I was joking.
However, I do think that people need to temper their expectations for our return if MB is ever traded. I doubt we’d get as much as you all think unless there is a bidding war between TB and someone else.

K, gotcha
I agree. If we don’t pry away some sweet pitching that can help in the next year or two…. fuggedaboutit. We’ll stick with MB.

+1
he’s gonna be a huge signing target if he plays his cards right. dont wanna get left with 2 picks out of the deal and a worse case scenario a sandwich 1st and a 2nd.

If this team stays close,
I would have to imagine he’d choose to stay with Texas over other teams as long as the Rangers made a competitive offer compared to the rest. That hasn’t been too much of a problem.

Assume? No...
But you bet your ass if we put up a competitive offer he’ll stick. Bradley seems to me like a guy that just wants someone to appreciate him and he found the team. Now if we don’t offer something competitive then he’ll probably take that as disrespect anyway.

if Georgie Boy
was still running the show I bet he would sign Bonds for the league minimum.

Why wouldn't he?
If he could win a World Series with the Yanks? He would be redeemed so much.

no he would be redeemed
if some could prove he DIDNT do steroids. That would just be a bandwagon ring, but it this is a moot point anyways cause the yanks arent making the playoffs.

bandwagon ring?
What are you crazy? The Yankees are currently in third place in their division. If they won the world series it would be because Bonds had a lot to do with it. No redemption? See Giambi, Jason.

huh
I’m for it, just because I think the media firestorm would be amusing. My prediction is that it would go about as well as the Roger Clemens reunion tour.

exactly
i think it would be great to see the media reaction. i mean they wouldn’t say anything bad about the yankees right? but they can’t support bonds. either way i’ll be entertained.
