Talking about the NY Post & Nolan Ryan
Hindman allows for the possibility of a difference of opinion. Ryan is in charge of business operations so wants to fill seats while JD wants to build strong franchise for next 5-10 years. Says if opportunity comes along to trade Milton for a near quality ACE, it will set us up for next 4-5 years. Ace Quality starter is missing from our franchise for the next 2 years.

Summary
Talking Nolan vs JD a la the Post story…
MJH mentions Nolan’s task is to put butts in seats, ie the “business side.”
JD is prob thinking deal Bradley to get a significant young pitcher, an ace if possible, “that’s what’s missing.” Two months’ consequences be damned. (Hear hear.)

Jamey says
clubhouse reaction is a factor JD needs to think about when making trades…Example: Gagne was a glue piece for CJ Wilson. Saying the same thing about Milton (trade him now and bring him back in the winter)

Hindman says we are 3-4 pitching pieces
away from being seriously competitive this year…and if we wanted to do that would have to sell off the farm and that’s going against the JD plan.
Our bullpen is insanely overworked now and will be overstretched even further as the season goes along so very hard for offensive lineup to overcome.

Calero
has looked pretty good so far in AAA and has a solid track record. he could be a solid piece, right there.

Jamey
talking about getting a guy like Greinke instead of Sabathia via trade. Compares situation of potentially getting Greinke to getting Hamilton.

I have to wonder why KC would want to trade Greinke though
trade him for multiple quality prospects I suppose.

I could see them making a deal
for a basket of high level prospects. Their team is so devoid of talent they probably should consider something along those lines. Davis or MaxRam/Andrus/Mayberry/Harrison? All four of those guys could probably start for KC right now… May not be enough, but I’d do that…

Yeah I think it would be a package
probably has to include Max Ram or Davis and one or two other quality prospects (one would have to be one of our top young pitchers)

call me stupid but...
if people are reading your summary it stands to reason the are already listening online…I’m just sayin’
by Goyogringo on Jul 16, 2008 5:18 PM CDT 0 recs
Why?
People could be at work and can’t listen to it but want the summaries. Isn’t that plausible?

Jamey thinks
Davis will be sent down and Blalock will play 1B everyday and show he is healthy…this will increase his trade value and the Rangers will move Blalock and bring Davis back up.

Hindman thinks that
Blalock can’t throw right now. Otherwise why wouldn’t they tell Ramon to sit for two weeks while they sport Blalock at 3B…He says this because no contending teams need a 1B but the Twins need a 3B desperately (running out Mike Lamb and his .213 BA right now)

Now they're talking about how incredible
the Tex trade was. Perfect timing because their GM was just rolling the dice trying to win then with getting Tex.

Projects Andrus to be ready opening day 2010. Jamey says that eventually MY moves to 3B…Natural fit, just slides over when Andrus comes up.

Hindman:
If JD looks for a young pitcher entering his prime, the other team will probably be asking for Andrus. Good thing for JD is that we have more depth at SS..mentions Marcus Lemon.

not Andrus
Lemon, Vallejo, Osuna, Whittleman, JMJ, a catcher, and of course low level pitchers. Plenty of prospects to deal this off season for a #1 SP.

I misunderstood what was said. They can ask for Andrus but he and Feliz are untouchable. I would accept a trade of anyone else if it brought back a true #1 SP.

But I am going to catch one of these Frisco games when he’s starting.
Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.
