Way for Ervin Santana
to pick Ervin Santana
"that suzuki guy should go back to making cars" - My girlfriend after C.J.'s close in game 2
Glad a-rod won
because he just is the best.
obviously im a hammy fan, but he shouldnt have been 2nd. not over guys like pujols and such that have been doing it for 5 years.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
A-Rod...
and I don’t think it’s that close either.

No love for Pujols?
weak.

Easy
Albert Pujols. 4 years younger than Arod, faaar better offensive player than him.
Josh Hamilton is better than you.
I question the 4 years younger part
I REALLY do.

IF..
you were the Rangers and the Marlins came to you and said make us an offer we can’t refuse and we’ll give you Hanley Ramirez what would you give up to get him?
Personally, I think he is one of the best if not the best young player in the game right now and I would give up just about anybody for him.
thoughts?
Free Palestine!
Its not really logical to go to what ifs,
but I would trade Andrus, Max Ramirez or Teagarden (Marlin’s choice), Vallejo, JMJ, and Font and see if i could pry away one of their young pitchers.
baseBALLIN!
Pujols
He didn’t get nearly the respect he deserves in this poll.
Agreed..............
A-Rod may be the best PLAYER, but Albert is the best HITTER.
In April, ESPN.com did a story on who the most feared hitter in the game is, now that Bonds is gone. Pujols won by a considerable margin. That was a poll of major league managers who weren’t allowed to vote for their own guys.

Here is the link to the Jayson Stark story from April—

Best overall player is ARod.
When you factor in things like SBs and defense along with the hitting statistics, I think he’s the best. There’s no telling how many more gold gloves he would have won had the Yankees not decided to play Jeter at SS instead of ARod. Pujols is a better hitter at his age than ARod was, but I don’t see him sustaining it like ARod has. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong.
I disagree
He was for probably a good 6-8 years, but now, I’d say Sizemore, Wright, or Pujols is the best player in baseball.

C'mon
We all know it’s Gerald Laird.
Classic iorange555: "lmao too bad i watched [the all-star game] at a friends house ;[ much funer on here"
Wright?
No no no. He’s good, but not the best-in-baseball type. Wright is so overrated. In my opinion anyway…
Sizemore is a legit choice, but I’d have to give my vote to a guy like Utley. I think that right now, Hamilton probably has a place in this discussion too.
Ian Kinsler has finally earned the right to be the third of my co-favorite players.

You know,
When Kinsler’s defense improves a little, I think he becomes a very legit choice in this discussion as well.

Kinsler
I think not. First, I don’t think his defense will ever improve to that point, second, I think he’ll come back to earth a notch in the 2nd half. Kinsler may be viewed as the best 2B in the AL, but not the best player in the game.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
Like I said...
His defense needs to improve, but I think his offensive capabilities and production this season, thus far, would then deserve to put him in the conversation. If he doesn’t keep it up, then you’re right. But I think he can and he will.

Nelson Cruz
Is so good the owners, GMs, and umpires collude to keep him out of the bigs. No point embarassing all the established stars.

my pick
Albert Pujols.
If Arod was still a gold glove SS, Id probably take him.
id take pujols
he’s the complete hitter. for a guy with that much power to have a 2:1 BB:K ratio is beautiful.
