BMac starting for OKC...

So the RedHawks are going to be here in Salt Lake the next four days and I plan on going to at least the first 3 games (I'll have to se how my daughter is holding up on Friday). With many of the Ranger kids already up I was thinking about who I was really looking forward to seeing. I just checked Shroom's site and low and behold he has BMac going tomorrow. Not bad.

This will be the first game(s), and probably last, I see in person this year. It will be nice to see JMJ, Tx2, and Duran, but I must admit I'm a little disappointed with the level of prospects right now at OKC that I will get to see. Ya know, compared to the other guys in the system with other teams. It's a good and bad thing of course. Guys like Davis, MaxRam, Boggs, Hurley, and Harrison are with the Rangers sooner than many of us expected, but I still selfishly would have liked to have been able to see some of them play in person before they hit the bigs. Oh well.

One thing a I can say is that I won't be doing in depth game fanposts with pics, etc. like some of the other peeps here at LSB have done. They are nice, but I just don't think I will have time to do so. Besides, I don't think I like you guys that much anyways.

Poll
How many homers will I see Nellie Cruz hit in the 4 game series here in Salt Lake?

Milly I have no choice but to nickname you "The Laborer".
Every time I see you on the mound you're laboring through the inning.

i guess you could congratulate them on getting their asses handed to them in the playoffs?...

...that’s not a World Series team over there.

that’s a statistically “lucky” baseball team.

Saunders and Santana won’t pitch like they have been for the rest of the season…

as J. Morris has already pointed out, Saunders’ peripherals aren’t very good.

So not great...

BMAC got roughed up in the first and gave up 4 runs. The velocity on his fastball was only 88-90 with I’d say about 80% of them being at 89 mph. He had scoreless frames in the second and third and got 2 outs in the forth before being pulled. He started going to his offspeed stuff a lot more after the first. His change was 76-79 and he had a couple guys (including Wood) looking silly swinging at it. He only threw about 6-8 curveballs and they were at about 73-75. Overall, he still looks like he has a ways to go before he comes back. He struggled with his command at times as well.

Other notables…Cruz hit a 430ish ft shot into left field that went over some restrooms out there. A absolute blast that had me and my father saying wow.

Arias hit a ball into the gap in right center and flew around the bases for a triple. The guy looks pretty fast. He also made a nice play in the hole at SS on a ground ball.

OMFT also played the first 4 or 5 innings before TT came in. Nothing really of note there. The hammy looks to be ok.

Duran may have sprained his wrist sliding into 2nd after trying to take a extra base when a OFer threw home on a play.
