I command millwood to inspire some confidence in himself
because over the past 3 weeks ive lost all of it.
show up milly. it’d help if you would throw 93-94 again instead of 90-91.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Kevin Millwood = Loss

Millwood
I think I’d rather watch Mendoza pitch right now, I’m really weary of Millwood.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
Anyone else nervous about a left hander
making his major league debut? I’m guessing 7IP, 3H, 1R, 1BB, 6K
he is supposedly somewhat similar to buerhle
that went well, didnt it?
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Buerhle deserved that win yesterday...
...pretty heroic story about him wanting to start on three days rest…
He saw what they.....
were putting up in Minny and probably begged to face this team.
nah...
...he wanted to attend his uncle’s funeral… or father’s… or something…
and he didn’t want the Sox to have to call up somebody and have them spot start consecutive days…
wish we had guys who would step up in that situation

Great another day of
Kevin “the faster I get out of the game the sooner I get to enjoy the lock room spread” Millwood.

my prediction....
Rangers can’t hit the lefty rookie…
He goes 6 2/3 giving up 1 run (homerun) and 4 hits
Millwood is his usual self
5 runs in 6 innings.
we lose 6 to 1
We will have scored 2 runs or less for 5 out of 6 games since the break
Clayton Richard
Sox Machine has a video and analysis of how quickly he works.
I’d like to see us get him out of rhythm.
"Will the Rangers ever win...past July?" - Peter Schmidt
Probably Dunn
All of the A’s seem to get injured sooner or later.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
TBall, I passed
on a very similar joke. Nearly said: “Probably Street, happens every year”

know what's scarier than that?...
...Street being traded to the Rays…
Beane will find some way to weasel another pitcher out of them.
the arsenal of arms the A’s are assembling… yiiiiikes….
be that as it may
the difference between our pitching prospects and theur pitching prospects is nowhere near the difference between our hitting prospects and their hitting prospects…. you still gotta hit at some point

-Jason Parks on Jul 22, 2008 10:08 PM
and you might add
that just really does not seem like the kind of trade Beane would make if he’s building for the long haul, as he’s publicly stated. I’d be more afraid that he’ll land a young prospect in return for Street.
I also don’t see why Cincinatti would acquire Street having just signed Coco.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
Chris Davis has great...

I’m more impressed with Clay Buchholz than you. I see him as a front of the rotation type arm.
And CJ may or may not be our closer of the future.

Fifth-round choice OF Clark Murphy (Fallbrook High School in California) and seventh-round pick RHP Matt Thompson, who lives in Burleson and went to Grace Prep Academy, have agreed to terms.woot

Murphy was committed to UCLA and Thompson to TCU.

was Murphy
thought to be a tough sign when he was drafted?
The Eagle has landed....
From my horrible awesome Day One recap:
Murphy possesses a strong, projectable frame that invoked a Ryan Klesko body comparison from Baseball America, as well as exceptional power from the left side of the plate. The 2007 Aflac All-American has lost some of his luster since last August’s Aflac Classic showcase, battling through an injured quad muscle and several significant kinks in his classic "power to all fields" swing. He profiles as an average defensive first baseman.Though Murphy may outwardly appear to be something of a reach at pick #153, there would nonetheless appear to be considerable promise here if Texas can straighten out his offensive shortcomings. Despite verbally committing to UCLA, Murphy, according to Jon Daniels, is expected to sign rather easily.

We don’t have the heir apparent at 3rd and Andrus needs anoter farm year. Why trade Blalock? Why not keep him this year and see if Andrus is ahead of schedule next year. If so then let Hank build trade value by hopefully staying somewhat healthy and playing to the level he is capable of until next year and then deal him.

Millwood injury
He’s probably in the clubhouse pulling a George Costanza.
KM: it just started hurting for some reason.
Doc; I’ve done a thorough physical on you, i see nothing wrong.
KM: There has to be something wrong, just tell me what you think it might be..
Doc: You’re faking it.
Josh Hamilton is better than you.

Why
do we seem to always walk a batter after we get two outs? Can’t we have at least one 1-2-3-inning?
Longtime lurker
Definitely don't want to go after Juan Uribe
and his .225 average. Bring it back to the top of the order, that’s much easier.
seems just like the thing

Millwood
Don’t really have time to go through the thread. What happened? Did he suck or get hurt.
Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.

Maybe we should think about
shutting him down for awhile. That thing’s been bothering him the last 2 years, and we’re getting nothing for him at the deadline.
Of course, if we do that, we run the risk of him coming back at 320 lbs
What's wrong with him
He showed a lot of promise last year and this year is just bleh.
Well they pretty much name him the starter in the off season...
-He gets sent to AAA to start instead
-Laird has outperformed him in every phase and took most of the starts
-MaxRam put up ungodly minor league numbers and became a hot name
-Teagarden can do no wrong in anyone’s eyes and is an olympian who just won a game
-And he his hurt
I really think he has some mental issues right now and just can’t get over them….he needs to go to AAA or get about a week off….he just needs some time to relax a little. Sadly, this may be a lost season for him.

Name him the starter?
When did that happen. All I believe they did was tell him he wasn’t going to play 1B anymore and he would solely be a catcher. I don’t think they ever even insinuated he would be the starter.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
he has a pulled groin too...
i wouldnt be surprised if he hits the DL when Lard returns

ok AJM touched on this
but does any1 give a shit if we are in 2nd place or 3rd place if we end up 18 games out?
i know i dont. and i certainly dont want A’s picking in front of us when we both sucked as and didnt have a remote chance at a playoff run.

I do
We’ve finished 3rd or 4th for so long that I think finishing second would be great for the franchise going into the off season. Free agents that think we have a chance to over come the Angels are more likely to sign here.
Signature! I don't need no stinking signature!!

I just like the sound of second place rather than third for the umpteenth straight year.

yes
Its a mental thing. These young guys can come away from this season in second place they will have something to build off of going into next year. With the way our farm system is I can take picking behind Oakland next year.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
If we believe both Texas and Oak
are about .500 teams, I don’t think it really matters. The only way it makes a difference is if that 1 spot is the difference between a protected vs. an unprotected pick
TOOO HIGH!!!
