I command millwood to inspire some confidence in himself

because over the past 3 weeks ive lost all of it.

show up milly. it’d help if you would throw 93-94 again instead of 90-91.

the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is

Millwood

I think I’d rather watch Mendoza pitch right now, I’m really weary of Millwood.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

Anyone else nervous about a left hander

making his major league debut? I’m guessing 7IP, 3H, 1R, 1BB, 6K

he is supposedly somewhat similar to buerhle

that went well, didnt it?

Buerhle deserved that win yesterday...

...pretty heroic story about him wanting to start on three days rest…

by oc on Jul 23, 2008 12:43 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

He saw what they.....

were putting up in Minny and probably begged to face this team.

nah...

...he wanted to attend his uncle’s funeral… or father’s… or something…

and he didn’t want the Sox to have to call up somebody and have them spot start consecutive days…

wish we had guys who would step up in that situation

what a telling nickname

-Tito Fuentes, after getting hit by a pitch.

by Haeger Champ on Jul 23, 2008 12:27 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

my prediction....

Rangers can’t hit the lefty rookie…

He goes 6 2/3 giving up 1 run (homerun) and 4 hits

Millwood is his usual self

5 runs in 6 innings.

we lose 6 to 1

We will have scored 2 runs or less for 5 out of 6 games since the break

If A's get Dunn for Street

somebody gonna get hurt.

Josh Hamilton is better than you.

by Longhorn on Jul 23, 2008 12:31 PM CDT   0 recs

Probably Dunn

All of the A’s seem to get injured sooner or later.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

TBall, I passed

on a very similar joke. Nearly said: “Probably Street, happens every year”

"They shouldn't throw at me. I'm the father of five or six kids."
-Tito Fuentes, after getting hit by a pitch.

by Haeger Champ on Jul 23, 2008 12:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

know what's scarier than that?...

...Street being traded to the Rays…

Beane will find some way to weasel another pitcher out of them.

the arsenal of arms the A’s are assembling… yiiiiikes….

by oc on Jul 23, 2008 12:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

be that as it may

the difference between our pitching prospects and theur pitching prospects is nowhere near the difference between our hitting prospects and their hitting prospects…. you still gotta hit at some point

woohoo!!

and you might add

that just really does not seem like the kind of trade Beane would make if he’s building for the long haul, as he’s publicly stated. I’d be more afraid that he’ll land a young prospect in return for Street.

I also don’t see why Cincinatti would acquire Street having just signed Coco.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

I’m more impressed with Clay Buchholz than you. I see him as a front of the rotation type arm.

And CJ may or may not be our closer of the future.

shit we can have a caravan and party the whole way

CJ probably wouldnt be too bummed either. getting in a pennant and all.

it would probably be a pretty happy trip to DFW

general statement

I was just making a general statement. I would certainly trade CJ for Buchholz. I would trade CJ for a #1, #2 and quite possibly a #3 SP.

sure it does...

know what Taylor Teagarden was called up Friday?

because Millwood didn’t want to pitch to Ramirez.

that kinda story makes me wanna

is there any actual story behind that?

or just guessing?

i wouldnt doubt it though.

millwoods problem isnt his catcher, its his the meat fastballs and hanging curveballs.

Chris Davis...

according to Richard Durrett, has eight homers since he was called up on June 26, that’s the most in the AL since that time. Davis is averaging one home every 12 at-bats for his entire season—both major and minor leagues.
