8 trades in 8 days-bostons counter offer!
So as of 8:26 pm my time, 77% of lonestarball voters determined Bostons would say no to the proposed offer from JD of TT/Eddie G for Clay B.
So Boston called back and said, "I don't think so. Add Elvis Andrus and you got yourself a deal.
JD accepts. Does lonestarball?
I also think we could get a lower high cieling prospect back, but none come to mind. I'd say Oscar Teieda, but I think that's asking a lot.

yup
I’d do it for Buchholz.
But that is the type of trade that would have to be made in the offseason, and Boston would insist on a very good pitching prospect added to that combo. Actually, after a bit of reflection, Boston wouldn’t even do it then. I think they accumulate prospects by drafting well and spending big money on the internat’l FAs, not by trading away young pitchers like Buchholz. I can’t recall Boston trading for prospects in the Theo era, they just accumulate them and trade them for established big leaguers when necessary.
Warner Madrigal makes Ezequiel Astacio look downright handsome.

agree,
Boston isin’t trading for prospects. But Tea is ready by spring training next year, and Elvis could very well be in their lineup a couple months into the season.

So...
We are giving up a future All Star/MVP catcher and a guy who will be in a contending team’s lineup at the age of 20 for a pitcher who is one of the “who gives a crap top 5 prospects” in baseball. Why would the Rangers want to do that????

Not me
I am just repeating what NYTXFAN said earlier. So I am confused why he would want to give up 2 young studs like that.

With Lowrie
I doubt Elvis is someone they would be asking for.
If there were no rewards to reap,
no loving embrace to see me through this tedious path I've chosen here,
I certainly would've walked away by now... Be patient

I figure they look at things like us,
there surplus of SS will work out in their favor, just like C will for us..

Difference
Would we be in the market for catchers right now with the surplus we have? No. When we acquired Max and Salty we didn’t have the depth we have now. TT was in A ball and so was Max.
The Red Sox have Lowrie who has already broken through to the bigs and Elvis should be ready within a year it looks like. You can stock up on a position when they are in the lower minors because the attrition rate means most won’t make it. but once they get to the higher minors you have a pretty good idea if they will make it so if you already have one rookie SS you don’t need to trade for another one thats only a year away from being ready.

Why
Bring Clay in here and subject him to Connor and Chiti? Don’t trade for any pitchers until and unless the major league pitching support staff is reorganized to optimize whatever possibility of success is available, and minimize errata in pitchers’ preparation, delivery, or makeup.

If that's the case
we better fire Connor quickly before the crew of Holland, Beavan, Kiker, Main, Feliz reach the Majors.

I'm honestly beginning to feel that way
And it has taken at least two years to get there from near indifference. Didn’t mean to sidetrack the topic, though.

Salty
Salty is just a terrible, terrible player. Did you notice Kinsler moved way up in front of the bag to receive the throw on the steal attempt to try and compensate for Salty’s pathetic throwing. When your teammates start having to compensate for you it is time to go the bench/minors.
Worsh must stay!
