OT: Randy Pausch has died

I hope you guys have known about Randy Pausch by now.  I watched his "Last Lecture" a few months ago, and was overly impressed with it.  I thought it was just another internet phenom, but was genuninely surprised after I watched it.  If you haven't watched it, I recommend you do so.    It's almost an hour long, but I felt better as a person after doing so.  I know this may be off topic for LSB, but it's impressive if you're ready for it.

Pretty good lecture

watched that a while back. I don’t know if I could manage such grace in similar circumstances.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

I've seen it

And sent the link to every person in my family, extended family, and the friends that regularly communicate. No surprise, most had already seen “The Last”. He went way too young, but made his mark, then left a message for us all. RIP.

I just found out about him today

I had never heard of Randy Pausch before today, but in the mail I received an envelope from UTMB (which I begin attending next month). Inside was stuff about the orientation that I have to attend, and Pausch’s book with a note saying there would be a discussion about the “Last Lecture” during orientation.

Right before beginning to read some of the book I flipped on the television to watch the news and I learned that Pausch had died. Watching some of the lecture on the news got me really interested about the book and I’ve pretty much read it all today in one sitting. I haven’t yet seen the lecture yet but I plan to tomorrow.

Fantastic message. RIP Randy Pausch. I just hope when my time comes I can look at it a fraction as well as you did.

I feel like such a cad.

I’ve never heard of the man. I am very highly impressed doing a bit of research on this amazing human being.

i heard of him sometime in the past year by watching a special about him (20/20 or dateline one of the two) and it was quite fascinating.
