2 trades in 1 day-part 2

Quick review everybody:  We traded Pads, Lard,Cruz, Byrd, and Eddie G for minor leaguers Horne, Jackson, Veal, and Bailey.  Impressive haul if you ask me.  Three very good prospect pitchers(Bailey shouldn't count), and a CF prospect who holds a high value.

Breaking news: The Texa Rangers trade Hank Blalock to the Phillies for Antonio Bastardo, and Julian Sampson.

This last one is hard because I dont see us as a fit with Philly and Im rushing it.  So vote and come Friday or late thursday I'll have a final break down on our activity.

Im off to NY in less than 24 hours to see the Yanks and Orioles so enjoy everybody.

I would trade Hank

Simply for the rights to the name of Antonio Bastardo.

No

Those guys don’t do anything for me. This would be a case of trading hank just for the sake of trading him and I don’t think we should do that with him. If this is all you can get then we should just keep him

+1

I don’t understand the recent desire to dump Blalock.

by Randy Richardson on Jul 28, 2008 3:35 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

nope

despite the nice name, bastardo is a flyball pitcher who walks too many people. i like the package that the tribe got for blake better, and blalock has more value.

sampson is an intriguing young arm, but we have a lot of those. we need blalock around until andrus is ready, unless we are just knocked over by a deal.

I will try,

Im driving and its gonna suck because the price of gas is outrageous. But it’s still cheaper than flying.
