Ryan Roberts up
According to Richard Durrett, Ryan Roberts is in town and is in fact expected to be activated. No word yet on who is coming off the roster, but all reports say that Michael Young still isn't expected to be DLed.
Also on the DMN blog, Durrett mentions that Chris Davis is getting more work at third base and more attention from Ron Washington.

This must mean the Rangers are about to sign Smoak and David Clyde his ass ;- )

what was davis's problem at 3b in the minors?
hes looked 3b capable with his general defensive ability.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
His hands
aren’t very good for a 3B. I also doubt that he has the kind of range that you’d prefer. Good arm, though.
Offense doesn't doubt me, but my first and primemost thing is defense and punt return and kickoff return

he's close to 6'5"
he can just fall one way or the other and have significantly more range than any other 3B we can put out there now.
Josh Hamilton is better than you.
I've been wanthing this to be permanent
If he goes to 3rd for good that would be…umm, sexual?

DMN blog
now says that Blalock is out w/ a sore shoulder that may necessitate a move to the DL.
Warner Madrigal makes Ezequiel Astacio look downright handsome.
not his tummy
Blalock has a sore shoulder. So much for trading him.

"An effortless 98" - Scott Gardner after Neftali Feliz's first AA pitch
bummer
although i don’t think there was any serious consideration for him anyway. the twins were the only team that made any sense, but they are always timid at the trade deadline, and their farm is especially weak this year. might as well hold onto hank and treat him like Harden from this point forward, selling whenever possible.
Davis at 3B..
I’m all for versatility, but this doesn’t make much sense to me. I’m no scout (at least anywhere other than in my own head), but Davis doesn’t see quick enough or agile enough for the “hot corner”. Let him concentrate on playing 1B… his other “new” position.

avoid them at all costs. I just got a lot dumber while reading them.

Wait, now MY could be back even tonight?

same situation as last time.. only issue is if he can play through the pain.

Cruz
If I think this may be the precursor to seeing Nelson up here. In a few days when MY is back and Roberts is most likely DFAd you can use the roster spot for Cruz and give him his one last shot.
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
We may bring up cruz
but i dont see any reason this would be related. We needed a backup infielder for a few days, so we called up a backup infielder. cut and dry.
Besides, I still think trades will happen by then and the roster will have to be reevalutated.

Since Duran is injured we have to puchase Roberts. To make room on the roster, of course now info is that Blalock is injured and may go on DL which would make all this a moot point, we could option Boggs. Optioning him would mean he can’t be recalled for 10 days. If MY is better in 5 then we would most likely DFA Roberts and use that spot to purchase Cruz. He could stay up the rest of the year while Boggs gets everyday ABs in OKC like he should be getting until September and then come back up.
