OT: Artest Traded to Rockets
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that Ron Artest has been traded to the Houston Rockets for this year's first round pick, Donte’ Greene, next year's first round pick, and Bobby Jackson.
This trade supposedly happened an hour ago but I have not seen it on any nation media.
It is too bad that the Mavs felt like they had to make the Kidd trade last season because I would have liked to see Artest as a Mav.

Kings probably could have gotten better
although Donte’ Green could be a star. but IMO, this puts the Rockets in 4th in the West, behind NO, Lakers, and Utah.

they were already.....
4th best in the West. This puts them in the top slot. I don’t like to admit it but it’s true.

They are still behind the aforementioned teams plus the Spurs. To move up, they’ll have to prove it on the court. In addition, they’ll need to prove that they can stay healthy and finally make it past the first round of the playoffs.

I wouldn't put htem in the top slot yet
just because TMAC, Yao, and for that matter Artest haven’t really proven anything in the playoffs…

And the Rockets
just officially passed the Mavs in the Western Conference hierarchy.

If so it was barely, to the point where
someone could argue that the Mavs were better. Now I don’t think you can make that argument.

How so?
What had the Rockets done that put them ahead of the Mavs?

They were already better
As long as Yao is healthy… with the emergence of Scola and Landry.
Now with Artest… wow
They are as good as anybody, if Yao can play.

No, I get it with Artest
But, before Artest…hardly.
They hadn’t accomplished anything close to what the Mavs had.
Anyway, it’s a moot point now…Mavs might finish 4th in the Southwest next year.

As long as....
Yao and T-Mac are never both healthy.

Too many
Players at the same position now. More moves on the way, I’d imagine.

The ROckets
Always seem to get good value on trades and sign good FAs.
But for some reason, they just can’t put it together.
Smells like a lack of gritty hustle tough shortness!

No one had ever heard of Artest before
he’ll probably become a star in Houston
