Ramirez (Catcher) promoted to AAA today...
He's apparently joining the RedHawks (not sure if he is supposed to start tonight or not) and Nick Trzesniak was sent down to AA. I'm sure we all expected this. They were just waiting until the end of our road trip I guess...
Not to jinx it, but if we win tonight, we'll go into August with a lead of no less than 11 games in our division...of course, if Nelson is traded or called up, we'll probably need them!

yeah, there was a direct quote saying hed be move up today a while ago
it was just a scheduling thing.
nice that with teagarden gone to teh olympics he gets a chance to catch a little at AAA.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Old news is good news
on a day like today.
Thanks Bev!

Didn’t you start a nasty Masterson rumor yesterday? How do we know we can believe you now? ;)

LOL, yep that's me! :-)
I guess you should just discount everything I say until it’s picked up by the DMN or the Rangers website from now on…at least if my only source is Jeff’s text messages! :-) ROTFLMAO!
Thanks DSheppard and Rodney…I guess I missed that he was going to be promoted after the road trip because I was a little surprised at the timing at first.
Walter: Yeah, I was wondering that myself. You have to figure that Taylor will be back, if not for the end of the season, at least for playoffs. I don’t see us carrying 3 catchers so you have to figure 1 will be up in Texas. It may be because of roster expansion and not a trade though.
Did they say anything about transferring Joaquin’s rehab to OKC? I’m thinking that may happen tomorrow since Frisco hits the road on a long trip and we are home for 8 games.

you'd like to think
that this means when Teagarden gets back from the Olympics, he’ll be going to the majors for good. meaning one of Salty or Laird will be traded by then. at least that’s what I’m going to tell myself…
"No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of."
Olympics
By the time the Olympics are over and TT is back it will be already or almost September so the rosters will be expanding and Max can come up even if we still have both Laird and Salty
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
Sept call ups
I think they bring TT up for Sept. They need to get him into some ML games and see what he can do.

Him too
As long as the minor league season are over with hes on the 40 so why not. Max can DH, and TT can rotate with Salty and Laird.

Hip flexor strain

does anyone know
how serious that is?
also, does anyone know why we lose at least one player each night to injury?
Ramirez
He walked off the field on his own strength, though a little gingerly. I know Jim said in the post game that it was being reported as a hip flexor, but interestingly all 3 of us thought it was a hammy because of where he grabbed….it seemed too low to be his hip, but it was across the field so maybe we didn’t see it right. He didn’t return to the dugout the rest of the game.
