as opposed to Dickey tomorrow
who is the one Mariners starter who I am confident can bring us a win…
dare i say
we actually have the starting pitching advantage tonight?
of course, our lineup advantage isnt as large as usual.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Because Laird is sitting?
Couldn’t resist that one.

Are we really not making any trades?
This wait and see game has been painful…hurry up and do something JD. Be f’ing creative and get some pitching in here.

yep.. seems like its legitimately happening.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
So does this move the
Larid or TT to the Sox or Marlins go quicker now that this is going down? Maybe this is why nothing has happened yet.
"Would you mind walking a time or two so I could drive in some runs"? Milton Bradley
i dont think there is much of a connection
marlins will have given up significant prospects and may have traded one the rangers wanted, or be a little less willing to give up others now.
of course on the other hand they may be “going for it” and still tihnk laird will help them.
redsox want teagarden as a long term answer and defensive guy, its not like he would be acquired as an answer to losing manny.
i think everything is about the same.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
Are you serious?

a series of unfortunate events
rangers really cant do much.
blalock down, everyone wants to keep bradley now + he is a bit injured again, millwood sucks and everyone else is hurt so padilla has to stay, nearly the same thing w/ guardado, vazquez now has to play everyday so its harder to trade him, etc….

OT - I'm discussing on another message board the greatest player in White Sox history.
It’s actually “list the top three,” but the VAST majority of the posters are saying “Shoeless Joe Jackson.”
Jackson pretty much just had four full seasons as a White Sock. He was good, but in those four seasons not dramatically better than, say, Minnie Minoso (who played seven more full seasons with them on top of that). Just to pick a name out of the hat. Jackson’s best seasons were with the Indians.
Only two people (myself included) have mentioned Luke **ing Appling.
It’s going to give me a headache.
Frank Thomas has to be waaaaay up there, no?

OT: 3 team deal now
Red Sox, Marlins and Pirates with Jason Bay ending up with the Sox.

Thats what we need to be in on with Bradley and possibly a catcher or two
Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.
from who?
the one mention i saw of that was extremely speculative
although I was saying I thought the redsox would go after bay to replace manny… it would make a lot more sense to make a 3 way deal now.

Great quote by Manny just now
“The Red Sox did the same with guys like Nomar and Pedro, and now they do the same with me. Their goal is to paint me as the bad guy. I love Boston fans, but the Red Sox don’t deserve me. I’m not talking about money. Mental peace has no price and I don’t have peace here.”
"Sooner or later, prospects kill you, because you hang onto them." - Greggo, 11/22/2005
Boston is great at that
Throwing their fan favorites under the bus in a heartbeat. Whether its Damon, Pedro, Nomar, or any other player they have traded away or let walk, if you’re not a Red Sox, than you’re the enemy

Michael Scott from “The Office” or Jim Knox?

i've been uberimpressed with salty
in his last 7-8 games.
It seems like he’s right on every pitch he sees and doesn’t get fooled too often.
Just need to make better contact and beastliness follows.
Josh Hamilton is better than you.
I think by next year he'll turn into an acceptable hitter
i always thought that with development he would be fine – but he definitely needs some time to get there.
""If they'd have told me you can make the team but you've got to shine the shoes, I'd have been there shining shoes." -Bradley
salty
it just seems like he SHOULD be a good hitter.
he has decent patience and a decent eye at the plate, and solid power.
just hasnt been able to make contact tihs year.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
heh
problem with should is that guy named botts.
even though botts had a very obviously long swing and there isn’t such an obvious deficiency with salty, he does seem to”miss” little bit too often on mistake pitches. I still think he’ll come around as long as he recognizes that he’s a young guy and he needs to work on things.
""If they'd have told me you can make the team but you've got to shine the shoes, I'd have been there shining shoes." -Bradley
ive said it before
but i dont think botts has a good eye at the plate. he just took a lot of pitches.
i think salty is a little better in that regard.
the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is
i don't disagree
botts took too many borderline pitches. but i think they still have the same problem of not capitalizing on mistakes
""If they'd have told me you can make the team but you've got to shine the shoes, I'd have been there shining shoes." -Bradley
He just bugs the crap out of me with his little routine and stepping out every pitch.
Plus has not really shown the power. Just my opinion don’t want a salty fight.

From MLB trade rumors
7:23pm: Jayson Stark says the Red Sox are trying to get Stanton, Ryan Tucker, and one of Willingham/Hermida for Ramirez.
Someone needs to tell Boston that when you back yourself into a corner where you are forced to trade a guy, it is hard to demand a lot for him…
