we actually have the starting pitching advantage tonight?

of course, our lineup advantage isnt as large as usual.

Padilla

I want him on this team next year as our #3 SP (Millwood wouldn’t count as a 1 or 2)...make that happen JD.

Are we really not making any trades?

This wait and see game has been painful…hurry up and do something JD. Be f’ing creative and get some pitching in here.

So does this move the

Larid or TT to the Sox or Marlins go quicker now that this is going down? Maybe this is why nothing has happened yet.

i dont think there is much of a connection

marlins will have given up significant prospects and may have traded one the rangers wanted, or be a little less willing to give up others now.

of course on the other hand they may be “going for it” and still tihnk laird will help them.

redsox want teagarden as a long term answer and defensive guy, its not like he would be acquired as an answer to losing manny.

i think everything is about the same.

a series of unfortunate events

rangers really cant do much.

blalock down, everyone wants to keep bradley now + he is a bit injured again, millwood sucks and everyone else is hurt so padilla has to stay, nearly the same thing w/ guardado, vazquez now has to play everyday so its harder to trade him, etc….

OT - I'm discussing on another message board the greatest player in White Sox history.

It’s actually “list the top three,” but the VAST majority of the posters are saying “Shoeless Joe Jackson.”

Jackson pretty much just had four full seasons as a White Sock. He was good, but in those four seasons not dramatically better than, say, Minnie Minoso (who played seven more full seasons with them on top of that). Just to pick a name out of the hat. Jackson’s best seasons were with the Indians.

Only two people (myself included) have mentioned Luke **ing Appling.

It’s going to give me a headache.

by philkid3 on Jul 30, 2008 6:28 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah

I put Thomas number one. Though, in hindsight, I’d actually probably put Appling ahead of him.

problem with should is that guy named botts.

even though botts had a very obviously long swing and there isn’t such an obvious deficiency with salty, he does seem to”miss” little bit too often on mistake pitches. I still think he’ll come around as long as he recognizes that he’s a young guy and he needs to work on things.
