Griffey okays trade to ChiSox
ESPN is reporting that Ken Griffey Jr. has approved a trade to the ChiSox, paving the way for him to go to Chicago and relegate Paul Konerko to a bench role.
The problem is that an outfield of Carlos Quentin, Ken Griffey Jr., and Jermaine Dye doesn't give you a legit CF'er, but that's for Ozzie Guillen to worry about.
Danny Richar and former Ranger Nick Masset are apparently heading to Cincy.

Josh Hamilton is better than you.

woo hoo
for Kenny Williams. He just acquired the most expensive 4th OFer in history.
If Griffey goes to 1st, what happens to Konerko?

I think Swisher goes to 1B
And Konerko to the bench. He’s sucked this year.

So has Swisher...
and Griffey hasn’t been all that great either.

Maybe
Griffey to DH, Thome to first (with Konerko to the bench or traded)?
At least that makes more sense than Griffey in CF.

Masset
Rumor was we inquired on Nick. Think we might try again with the Reds? Possibly for Laird?
Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.

I really doubt...
...the Rangers would trade Laird for Masset.

Didn't mean straight up.

Masset to Cincy

The Reds
really have no need for Griffey anymore, and they have some more young outfielders to bring up, don’t they?
As far as the White Sox, I really don’t get this from their perspective. Griffey really should have gone to a team that needed the publicity of bringing in a future hall of famer… not a team that needs to step it up a level, because he is not going to be the type of player to put a team over the top. Of course, his offense is an improvement over Konerko… but there are probably a hundred guys that would be upgrades over that.
