Ugh
But if a deal were to be made, you can bet this is the time that GM Jon Daniels, assistant GM Thad Levine, senior advisor John Hart (who has been in Arlington this week), Jay Robertson, A.J. Preller and the rest of the Rangers management crew (it could take a page to list them all) will be working the phones.
Hopefully, there was just a celebrity golf tournament here Hart was participating in, or something...

i heard
he wanted to give all four of our catchers to Kansas City in return for Tony Pena Jr. because KC couldnt make up their mind on which one they wanted and thought we could use another utility infielder.
Pena is a really projectable player though
No telling how good he can be when he fills out.
or moves to the mound.
If he keeps hitting .240-something (or whatever it is), he’s got a much brighter future as a pitcher.
So... about the job with the Rangers?

Rangers could use more of his advice
like Amy Winehouse could use more cocaine.
In an shocking move the Rangers
have acquired the services of Einar Diaz to add to their stock pile of catchers.
Hart is in town...
....to ensure the long term deal with Ryan Roberts gets done. Thank christ.
I actually hope Nolan invited Hart in so that Nolan could poison him. TO DEATH. Betcha thought I was going to say pummel him, Ventura style, didn’t you?
Sorry, been working for 14 days straight.
You do know Hart was there
last year in the Gagne and Tex trades too, right?
Josh Hamilton is better than you.
shhh
youre ruining the fun.
and do you know for sure he was there? or was he just in town playin a few rounds at the four seasons?
quick
we must all rise up as one and slay him before he puts his voodoo on hick’s and turns the RBiA into a 18 hole putt putt course
I blame most of Hart's issues on Hicks
Hart is definitely on the hook for his mismanagement of the media, but I put most of the team’s failures during those years on Hicks. I think Hart took most of the bullets for Hicks and wouldn’t say anything.
Hart came in with the build-it-from-within plan, lock up young players through their arb years plus one or two.. Hicks then bought A-Rod and a bunch of scabs that cost the team all their draft picks b/c they thought they were closer.
Hart made a couple of solid moves—getting Adrian Gonzalez from the Marlins for Urbina and the Everett trade brought Frankie, Rupe and one other guy.
dude
Hart was on the lynx working on his short game about as often as he was in his office at the RBiA, at least in the latter years. the train had already pulled away from the station. theres a reason that he got the nickname “empty golf shirt”, and its not just because he “mismanaged” the media.
Not being in the office..
.. does not mean you are a bad manager. Many good corporate execs operate out of the office most of the time. If you have a solid management team below you, you don’t need to be in the office to be effective.
I’m not claiming that Hart had a perfect management team below him, but I do not think it is a strong argument as why Hart was bad. I think he failed with media relations, and did not overhaul the scouting department, but he did bring in JD.
In general, I think Hart was never allowed to pursue his real plan, because Hicks didn’t want that. Isn’t that why Melvin was fired? B/C Melvin wanted to overhaul the system?
Ummm...

Hart didn’t become the GM until after A-Rod’s first season in Texas.
There seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight"... is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. -- Andrew Klavan
Short Term Memory
If I remember correctly didn’t John Hart:
Acquire Chris Young?
Acquire Adrian Gonzalez?

Fuson drafted Meyer
Hart, supposedly, told everyone who would listen that he had nothing to do with Meyer.
In fact, if Meyer had panned out (or if Fuson had taken Scott Kazmir), Fuson may very well be the g.m. right now.
