Well
I think the "should Vicente Padilla make the All Star game" talk should be dying down now.

I hope Padilla doesn't fall into a big slump
And have 2-3 more crappy starts before the trade deadline. I’m a lot more worried about his trade value than his AS eligibility.

That's nice.
I like that. They are a bit shorthanded, from what I understand, and if he can get his act together, he might be worth a look later on this season.

And yet
there will probably be someone there less deserving. The all-star game is kind of a joke to me, but I still enjoy the HR derby, despite ESPN’s execrable broadcast of it.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
Hurley out tomorrow
Don’t know if someone already caught this, but Sullivan’s blog is reporting that Hurley is out tomorrow with a tight hammy, and Feldman will start…and that Padilla has a strained neck and may miss a start.

Great
Just great. Is that the ceiling I see falling toward the Rangers again at a high rate of speed?

I'm too lazy to look this up, but
does any other team have more DL time this year than the Rangers? And the DL time won’t even count the various nicks that have not resulted in a stay on the list but maybe should have (Benoit comes to mind.)

Cards
The Cards have to come close. Mulder just got his first appearance a few days ago.

More from the DMN blog
Padilla’s neck strain apparently bothered him in his last start, too.

There never should have been talk
about him deserving to go, just whether or not he was going to go. He isn’t having an All-Star season, but his win totals put him in the discussion.
By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.
