Since we are getting Danks updates, Volquez has given up 3 runs on 3 BBs and 5 hits through 6 IP. He’s only at 89 pitches so he’ll likely go one more. His ERA on the season is now 2.36

From Newberg Report

The significant thing about the player vote with regard to Kinsler, Young,
and Bradley is that they actually received more votes from their peers than
the players who will start received. Kinsler earned 389 player votes,
Dustin Pedroia 215; Young 470, Derek Jeter 463; Bradley 481, nobody else
listed.

by Agreen07 on Jul 6, 2008 3:00 PM CDT reply actions

And from EG:

Great news!

According to the players’ ballots, the Rangers should have four starting All-Stars.

All four of the Rangers players who were named to the team led the voting among their peers at their respective positions. Ian Kinsler, for example, outpointed starter Dustin Pedroia, 389-215 at second base. Michael Young won a close race at shortstop, beating starter Derek Jeter, 470-463. The other spots were absolute jokes. Josh Hamilton led the outfielders with 657 votes; Manny Ramirez (358) was the only guy within 300 points of him. And Milton Bradley had 481 votes for the DH spot. MLB didn’t even bother to list a second-place finisher to him – if there was one.

Guaranteed, this is what is going to make the Rangers’ proudest: Their peers thought they should be playing.

Christ Max

That’s little league right there.

Nothing pithy here. Please move long.

Kinda OT...

All signs are pointing to Milwaukee getting CC in the next few days.

It looks like the Dodgers have pulled out, TB is going to get a BP arm instead and maybe a bat, and the Cubs dont have the horses.

Milwaukee wants an answer in the next 24-48 hours because they want all the starts they can out of CC. CC next start is supposed to be tomorrow, so..if the Brewers are planning replacing Bush who starts Thurs with CC, look for CC’s start tomorrow to get pushed back…

but unfortunately that measn the bottom of the order follows them

Anyone notice the O’s stadium music? The Cranberries followed by April Levigne’s “Kiss Me.”

Yeah, that gets me pumped for baseball.

Nothing pithy here. Please move long.

“Kiss Me” sounded like it was being covered by a dude, too…..gayest song for a man to sing?

by 'QuisInTheHouse on Jul 6, 2008 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions

"Kiss Me"

By Sixpence None the Richer NOT Avril Levingne

And I suppose they were doing a Kiss Cam, maybe?

by The Best Micah on Jul 6, 2008 3:32 PM CDT up reply actions

Heh

Lavigne and Sixpence None the Richer aren’t even particularly close.

It reminds me of when Ben claimed that Barenaked Ladies and Eagle-Eye Cherry sounded the exact same.

Would you propose they talk more about...

Hamilton overcoming drug addiction
or maybe…Hank and Hamilton’s tattoo collections?
