Send in questions for Minor League Mailbag feature!
I don't usually like to promote my own site here, but I figured I would give a heads-up about this.
I get a lot of questions here and in other places, so I decided it's about time I started a Minor League Mailbag. I especially wanted to start this feature now because I just got back from a trip where I saw one game in Oklahoma City, six games in Clinton, and two Frisco games in Arkansas.
Even if you are not a subscriber, don't worry. The first mailbag will be a free article.
You can send all questions to lonestardugout@gmail.com. Try to include your first name and where you're from so I know who to credit the question to.
I'll answer as many questions as possible. If I don't get to your question in the first feature, I will eventually, without a doubt. It just depends on how much response I get.
Thanks!

Be original.
Everyone has one of these mailbags. A little creativity goes a long way.

That may be true, but
nobody else does a minor league mailbag. I figured it was worth a shot because I’ve gotten quite a few questions and I’ve seen quite a bit of Rangers prospects this season. I figure the best way to spread my observations and what I’ve heard on guys is to find out what people are curious about and answer it directly in a detailed manner.

I'm buddies with Cole.
Apparently practical jokes are only funny when you aren’t the subject of them. Who knew?

i would like to know
how the glut of middle infield prospects we have accumulated all grade out and rank in the system. I would love to hear your thoughts on the long term projectability of these guys (Duran, Arias, Andrus, Vallejo, Lemon, Osuna, etc).
I would love to hear any information you might have on the current status of negotiations with Smoak, Ross, Clark Murphy, Matt Thompson, Mike Bianucci, and some of the intriguing later round guys, and if our losing out on some prime international free agent targets will allow us to take a more aggressive approach to negotiations with some of these guys.
And finally, I would love to hear your thoughts on Mike Ballard, who seems to be on quite a roll of late in Frisco. I would assume he has a ceiling like Doug Mathis, except that he is a lefty, which makes him a bit more interesting.

Recently Baseball Time in Arlington stated in their Mid Season Top 25 that the realistic scenario for Kennil Gomez was:
Back of the rotation starter/AAAA arm.Do you agree with this assessment?
With the recent tears that Mitch Moreland, Jonathan Greene and Renny Osuna have been on, are they establishing themselves as legitimate players to watch in the system?
With the signings of Martin Perez and Wilfredo Boscan along with Omar Poveda, are the Rangers starting to make more of a presence in Venezuela and will they field a team in the Venezuelan Summer League any time soon?

good line tonight
Gomez 5IP 7H 1ER 2BB 5K
For the year, 1.08 WHIP with .232 BAA
He is being overshadowed by Beaven and Feliz but he is have a pretty good year, IMHO.
"Publicly, Beavan has said in an interview that his velocity has dropped because he's not used to throwing as much and because of all the travel -- late night bus rides, sleeping in hotels, not the best nutrition, etc."

Arias
Still a prospect? What was his injury? Will he ever regain enough arm strength to be a ML SS?

People can't read
It says send in questions, not post them here.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

In an effort to be totally obvious...
I bet they’re posting them here AND emailing Cole.
