Harrison pitching tomorrow.
From DMN
That's right. Matt Harrison is coming to the big leagues to pitch against the AL West Division leaders. Eric Hurley's left hamstring felt better today, but during some fielding drills it wasn't quite at 100 percent and the Rangers don't want to take any chances.
So Harrison gets the call. The lefty has split time between Double-A Frisco and Triple-A Oklahoma and is a combined 6-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 15 starts (84 innings) this season. He gave up one earned run in six innings in his last outing on July 3. He had five strikeouts and two walks.
The Rangers will wait until after the game to figure out what corresponding move they have to make to put Harrison on the roster.

Way too many
pitches per innings so far this year. Otherwise he is been good.
And again the 40 Trumps all.

40
How does the 40 trump all in this instance? Who else would you have brought up?

I would have brought up
Fukumori since Harrison isn’t polished yet and you don’t want to throw Harrison in a pressure situation but Fukumori isn’t on the 40. Fukumori can give you 75 pitches and has couple of starts for OKC. Lizard is another option but he pitched on Saturday.

For one start?
You don’t want to bring up Harrison and throw him in a pressure situation but yet you want to bring up Fukimori for the same spot? If I remember correctly Fukimori was horrible in his short stint here. He hasn’t been exactly lights out in OKC either. If you brought up Lizard and then DFAd him again after that one start he could elect FA and you lose him. Harrison isn’t polished yet but for one start he should be fine. The Angels won’t have alot of film on him if any so their hitters will be fooled. If he can give us 4-5 solid innings I would consider that a success. Plus he can take the experience and use it to learn from and go back to OKC and work on things.

I rather have
Fukumori, who doesn’t have much value and in his late thirties, be the crash test dummy than Harrison. One bad start can shatter a young pitchers confidence so I rather bring up a young pitcher when he is ready. Just my opinion.

Cool
If you would have told me before the season that by the ASB we will have seen Boggs, Duran, Salty, Davis, Max, Hurley, Harrison, and Madrigal I would have said you are nuts. Hopefully he comes up and has a nice outing and can build off it when he goes back down to OKC.

He's pitching
like he’s hurt. If so, I hope McCarthy is ready to step in very soon.

not for probably another 3 weeks
He should go on rehab assignment at the end of this week and to get his arm strength up it will probably take about 3 weeks. So look for him around the end of the month.

What's the difference between
Harrison and fellow weak-armed fluffball-tossers Rheinecker, Koronka, Gabbard, A.J. Murray, and oh i don’t khow, Bruce Chen?

Harrison isn't a weak-armed fluffball-tosser
His fastball usually sits in the low 90s and can hit 94 at times. That is hardly fluffball velocity. Especially from a LHP.

Don't
question Harrison’s greatness or JP might hurt you.

I question it!
How come a lefty who throws that hard can’t strike out more guys?
Take that, JP!

he is an actual prospect?
aj murray, gabbard, koronka were all just guys. rheinecker had prospect status at one point but it had faded by the time we got him.
in real terms, the difference is a couple mph and better control. which happens to matter quite a bit in the mlb.
2 games over 500 please.
