Matt Harrison to start tomorrow

Per Richard Durrett, Eric Hurley is still having issues with his hamstring, so the Rangers will call up Matt Harrison to get the start (and make his major league debut) tomorrow.

No word yet on how the Rangers will make room for him, but you'd have to figure that either Warner Madrigal gets sent down or Vicente Padilla goes to the d.l.

the Angels...

...how do they hit lefties?

by oc on Jul 7, 2008 5:51 PM CDT reply actions

id imagine pretty well

given that their lineup is pretty righty heavy. they have a 16-5 record against lefties.

2 games over 500 please.

stats

as a team, .697 ops v righties, .720 v lefties.

so better v lefties but still not that great.

the rangers are .749 v lefties, heh.

2 games over 500 please.

The Rangers are .749 versus lefties?

That’s pretty good – they were killing us to start off the year. I guess Kinsler remembering how to hit helps out

Awesome

He already has one no-hitter this year, right? I’m calling it again…

Is anyone

from the opening day roster left on the pitching staff?

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

Padilla

Send Padilla to the DL retroactive to 7/5. He would only miss 2 starts and can come back on the 20th.

ASB

Hed only miss one start with the ASB being next week.

Bryan Smith (12:17:17 PM PT): Justin Smoak and Josh Hamilton. The AL West might just have found their Bash Brothers, v. 2.0.

correct

Your’e right. Padilla is scheduled for Wed. But if Harrison starts tomorrow he would also pitch on Sunday.

Wow

At the start of this year, I didn’t envision any significant promotions to the ML level. What do you know… In the past month, we’ve seen Hurley, Davis, Ramirez, and now Harrison.
Hell, I didn’t even see Duran and Boggs making it in.

Don't you miss

Wood, Chen, Koronka, Wells, Gryboski, Wasdin, Karsay, Hairston, Alomar, Guzman, Diaz, Hildago, Allen, Nivar… I’m too tired to go on.

by RangerMad on Jul 7, 2008 6:16 PM CDT up reply actions

I, for one, miss Koronka.

If we gave up all of that...

...do you think we could get Esteban German back?

I saw

Harrison twice in Frisco and was terribly underwhelmed.

Of course I have 4 and 1 year old daughters so it wasnt like I was able to lock in and really watch the game but I know he gave up 4+ runs in each start and didnt last all that long…...its also possible I saw his 2 worst starts in Frisco.

I've got a laptop for pleasure.....The Rangers for pain.

by red shoe ranger on Jul 7, 2008 6:37 PM CDT reply actions

well he had a 3.33 era in frisco

so i imagine he didnt give up 4+ runs in 5-6 innings every time out.

2 games over 500 please.
