it was that his wife was due for a baby yesterday

and could have it any time, at which point he would leave.

looks like nothing happened.

Worst live act I've ever seen

Saw him at the end of last year, opening for the Police at River Plate Stadium. Admittedly, the crowd was pretty empty(scheduling fuckup I think, we showed up earlier than the start time and he was already halfway through his set), but he just did not give a shit, his sound engineer was awful, and I hated it.

I don’t mind the new album, though.

My favorite thing by him is the Gameboy Variations EP.

Cops Drinking Game...

Found this on the Cops profile on IMDB:

Take a drink every time you hear or see one of these:

1) A cop mentions how he or she “always wanted to be a police officer” when he or she was a kid.

2) A cop talks about his or her parent who is a retired police officer.

3) The cop’s partner in the passenger seat turns around to talk to the camera man – hey, he wants his screen time!

4) There’s a mullet.

5) Someone is missing teeth.

6) Someone swears that there is nothing illegal in his/her car, only to have it searched and – gasp!- there is drugs and/or drug paraphernalia.

7) After being caught with something illegal, the person SWEARS that it belongs to one of the following: family member, co-worker, friend, ex-spouse, etc., even if it was found in his/her purse or wallet.

8)A prostitute and a john are pulled over, with one or both claiming that they were “just getting a ride” to the local grocery store.

9) Someone is found with a stolen car and despite the fact that he/she had to start the car with a screwdriver, he/she denies, denies, denies knowing it was stolen.

10) Someone is found with a stolen car and claims he/she “borrowed” it.

11) Someone is found with a stolen car and swears he/she bought it for $40 (or some other suspiciously low amount.)

12) A cop asks someone if he/she has ever been arrested/in jail, he/she replies, “Oh, not for a LONG time!” (And it turns out they either have warrents, or were in jail just last month.)

13) A cop asks someone if he/she has been arrested, he/she says no, the cop find out otherwise, and the detained person responds, “Oh, well I’ve never been arrested for THIS before.”

14) Despite having photographic/video evidence, a person denies any wrong-doing.

15) The suspect tries to get out of being arrested by using an abysmal excuse, particularly one which reveals his/her utter ignorance of the law. (For example, the woman who was arrested for stealing beer and protested, “My boyfriend tol’ me to!”)

16) A suspect tries to run, but is knocked over by the camera man.

17) A suspect tries to flee and the cop shouts, “Hey! You get back here!”

Interesting blurb on Hurley....

Per T.R. Sullivan:

“The original plan had Hurley pitching Tuesday and Padilla pitching Wednesday against the Angels. But Hurley went on the disabled list Tuesday with a strained left hamstring, even though he insisted he was ready to pitch.

“We just don’t want to take any chances,” general manager Jon Daniels said. “Hurley has the right attitude and he volunteered to pitch Wednesday but he’s not 100 percent. One wrong step covering first base and he could be down for awhile and this kind of injury can linger. We want to get him right.”
