Doing the Weight Watchers thing. Ice cream is all but forbidden.

by The Best Micah on Jul 8, 2008 9:55 PM CDT up reply actions

so not true!

I’m on weight watchers and I’ve had ice cream twice today.

Low fat is your friend! So yeah, DQ and Braum’s are definitely out…
Check out Skinny Cow brand stuff.

by RachelB on Jul 8, 2008 9:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah

I can do Skinny Cow and the WW ice cream. But staying away from DQ and similar places…not fun when none of my friends are watching what they eat.

How are you doing on WW? I’m pretty proud to say I’ve lost 25 lbs. since Christmas. I’m back to my college graduation weight. Working toward high school…we’ll see if I get there.

by The Best Micah on Jul 8, 2008 9:58 PM CDT up reply actions

I've lost 35 pounds total since September '07 or so...

Started WW in January. I think my total since then is like 19. It definitely started coming off faster when I started the program.

My goal is to get to army weight. Not that I want to join the army (although the Nurse Corps/Reserves sometimes sounds attractive), but I’d like to have the option.

by RachelB on Jul 8, 2008 10:00 PM CDT up reply actions

When I stick to WW religiously

I do great. I also have a part-time job at Curves for Women, so it helps that I can workout for free (and in fact get paid). I’ve gotten lazy with the program lately though. I need to get motivated again.

by The Best Micah on Jul 8, 2008 10:01 PM CDT up reply actions

I finally broke down and started working with a personal trainer.

It helps me stay motivated during the stretches where I really don’t feel like working out, if nothing else.

by RachelB on Jul 8, 2008 10:02 PM CDT up reply actions

Ah...yes, a personal trainer

That would definitely help me. I’ve started e-mailing back and forth with a friend who is also trying to lose weight. We throw the brutal honesty and numbers (gulp) up there. I’m hoping we can motivate each other.

by The Best Micah on Jul 8, 2008 10:04 PM CDT up reply actions

that definitely helps too!

We took my measurements at the beginning (in May) and after one month. I lost almost 30 inches just by adding weight training.

by RachelB on Jul 8, 2008 10:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Wow. That's pretty significant.

I weigh and measure every month at Curves. I’ve lost about 27 inches. And 4 percent body fat. Pretty pumped about that last stat.

by The Best Micah on Jul 8, 2008 10:06 PM CDT up reply actions

Yup

I’d lost 1.8% body fat in a month… made me feel better about “only” 4 pounds. That, and all my clothes that I bought a few months ago feel way too big now…

by RachelB on Jul 8, 2008 10:08 PM CDT up reply actions

That's awesome.

I hate having to spend the money for new clothes. But it’s kind of a nice problem to have :)

by blueballlefty on Jul 8, 2008 10:05 PM CDT up reply actions

mendoza, he has looked terriable as a starter, put him in the pen or send him down, let harrison stay up

by bhuckabee on Jul 8, 2008 10:05 PM CDT up reply actions

Adam...

Do you believe they send Harrison down after his Sunday start? Or do you believe they send him down after his start tonight to give Ballard a roster spot?

They put Hurley on the DL to avoid what exactly? Sorry… don’t understand.

by sidebar54 on Jul 8, 2008 10:07 PM CDT up reply actions

JD..

Made it very clear that Hurley begged to pitch Wednesday but they would not let him. He will be pitching his first rotation spot after the ASG.

by sidebar54 on Jul 8, 2008 10:09 PM CDT up reply actions

i said "put on the dl" didnt I?

hurley dl = 1 move has to be made to bring up the combo of harrison and that guy thats starting tomorrow

hurley not on the dl = 2 moves have to be made (1 of which could be harrison back down).

obviously you get a spot back when you DFA that spot starter, but you couldnt just immediately bring the other guy back, youd have to wait.

whatever, its complicated.

ill just say i will be shocked if harrison goes down tomorrow.

the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is

by DShep on Jul 8, 2008 10:10 PM CDT up reply actions

I don't understand this thought process

You still have to make two moves. One of those two moves is Hurley going to the d.l.

If you don’t d.l. Hurley, you send down Madrigal or someone, and bring up Harrison, then you send Harrison down to make room for Ballard or whomever.

by Adam J. Morris on Jul 8, 2008 10:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Adam...

I agree now that I think about it. Harrison would be the best option to go down. If you send down Harrison, you keep another healthy arm in the bullpen by keeping Madrigal there. Harrison, is “wasted’ until Sunday. If Padilla starts on Sunday, he won’t need to stay anyhow.

by sidebar54 on Jul 8, 2008 10:17 PM CDT up reply actions

if one of the moves is to DL hurley

thats one less person who has to go down.

you dont think 1 person going to AAA instead of 2 increases the chances harrison stays up?

the preceding post is not nearly as negative or insulting as you think it is

by DShep on Jul 8, 2008 10:23 PM CDT up reply actions

ugh i dont know

really i guess harrison depends on if they will boot mendoza this quickly or not.

rather DL’ing hurley has any effect on it at all, i hope they make that move anyway.

God I dread the 9th innings these days.

Like I said

This game was waaaay better than Sunday’s game. Two hours twenty minutes?

Not that I hate watching baseball, it’s just nice to see it this way.

Nothing pithy here. Please move long.
