Legendary
Greatest ending to a Rangers game I have seen in a very long time.
Josh ain't scared, so why should you be?:
K-Rod trying to throw a curve to Josh....uhh, please:
Heh...K-Rod doing all he can to fool Josh with a leg kick and trying to go parallel to the ground. Sorry, son, nothing will help you here:
Yeah, at this point, K-Rod is thinking, "OOOPS!":
Gone.
"Yay! Woo hoo! I'm king of the world!!" - says Laird.
"Don't touch me there!" - says Madrigal.
Jamey Wright is about to go all Miles on someone.
(MY looks exhausted here):
for AJM.
I Am Beast. Here me ROAAAAR!
Game Over.
We win.

oops
Nah… how do you say “Oh shit!” in Spanish?
Where is Nippert? He should have been there in the middle with Warner, Matt, Jamie and Josh Rupe.
"An effortless 98" - Scott Gardner after Neftali Feliz's first AA pitch
he was probably in the bullpen and hadn't gotten down there yet...
"that suzuki guy should go back to making cars" - My girlfriend after C.J.'s close in game 2
"King of the World!"
Greatness.

This is why I hate my schedule
Had to be in at 6am so I turned off the game with the Angels leading 2-1 and this happens!
Don't feel bad
I had to work 10 hours yesterday, got off at 6 but made it to the game for the first pitch. But because i had to be back at work at 7 this morning I left after the 8th thinking “Its Krod with a 2 run lead. I’ll get out early to miss traffic”
Got home and went online to check email and BAM theres the score on ESPN.com. Luckily I was TIVOing the game so I was ablt to go back and watch the last inning but it didn’t feel the same.

I don't understand
the “fan” that leaves early.

sometimes people have these things called jobs, that make them get up really really early

Yes
I am aware that people have jobs. I have a job, but if I’m going to go to the game, I’m going to stay for the whole game. Traffic never enters the mind…

Well you are clearly more of a fan
I mean, I don’t know how anyone could argue otherwise, you are the SUPER fan.

Well
I had worked a full day at work with about 3 or 4 hours of it being outside in the heat. I didn’t get off work until 6 in Grand Prairie. Hauled ass up 360 to my apartment in Bedford. Took my dog out, changed, grabbed the tickets, and hauled ass to RBiA. Was still able to get there, park, in the stadium, buy 3 dogs and a coke, and make it to my seat by first pitch. Sat down the 3rd base line so the first 30-45 minutes were in the sun. Watched the game. Then made a decision after the 8th when we were down by 2 knowing full well that even if they didn’t score anymore runs in their half of the 9th we would still be down 2 facing KRod, who is one of the best closers in all of baseball. I knew I had to be up at 545ish this morning so I decided to take off a little early. If that disqualifies me from being a “fan” then so be it. But I can almost guarantee you I follow the team closer than 99% of the “fans” who stay the entire game.

Maybe
I shouldn’t have put quotes around fan. Different people have different reasons for leaving. I just have a hard time understanding why people go through all the effort of coming to the game (and by the sound of it, you went through a lot to make sure you were there) and not see the whole thing through. There have just been so many exciting endings and miraculous comebacks in sports to risk missing seeing one in person.
In the grand scheme of things, what’s 15 more minutes? That’s just my thinking…

i know the feeling
i work those hours so i rarely finish watching a game, and i don’t get home until right about the time the games start most nights

Nice
Thanks!

I LOVE this quote by Josh
From the MLB.com article on the game:
But when something like that happens, it reminds you how much you love playing this game.”
Us too Josh. Us too.
Nothing pithy here. Please move long.
My favorite quote
was during his postgame Knox interview when he said that he didn’t know that it was gone until (in his innocent sounding drawl) “I got to second base and nobody was trying to get me out.”
