Adam Dunn traded

Traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for Dallas Buck and two players to be named later.
I'd say good deal for D-Backs and I would say makes them the favorite in the N.L if they can hold off the dodgers.
Wonder if the rangers inquired on Dunn?
I need six more words. Haha

Big deal for August.
Good deal for the Dbacks, depending on the PTBNL.

Yeah
assuming the other two aren’t big names, they may have gotten a huge discount from previous prices on Dunn.
Offense doesn't doubt me, but my first and primemost thing is defense and punt return and kickoff return

I would bet...
that at least one of the PTBNL, if not both, are currently on the 40 man roster but wouldn’t clear waivers so would have to wait til after the season to be traded.

according to the reds guys
they’re on the 40. They’re throwing the name Scherzer around. I think that’s wishful thinking. even with scherzer’s elbow/shoulder problems.

Rangers
never got the chance. Dunn was claimed by an NL team, which means no AL team had the chance to put a claim on him, correct?

Yah
But they could have before the 31st which is what I think he was wondering.

Dallas Buck sucks
so the other two players better be good.

yeah and with Carlos Lee down
they could use him, but they are going nowhere, too late for them in that division

he is a local kid, right?
that would have made a lot of sense for the Astros. they love local kids.

Makes them the favorite?

Dunn's future
He’s a free agent after this season right? Are the Diamondbacks going to be interested in re-signing him?

With Upton, Young and Byrnes signed to a long contract
I heavily doubt it

Young
doesn’t seem to be all they hoped for. None of his numbers have improved from last year at a glance.

BUT how old is he?

I think he's coming up on 25, but
this is his second full season and he’s striking out more than once a game.

Yes, probably not but we'll have to see

If not...
I’m sure they will just take the picks. Not sure about the other 2 players, but Buck isn’t a great prospect. I think it’s a good move by the DBacks.

Before reading the fanpost...
...I was almost certain it was going to say that he was traded to the M’s. It just seemed like it would fit with the type of moves that they have made since the end of last season (misdirected).

Great Move!
Buck isn’t much of a prospect and I am sure the two other players will surely be equal to the draft picks.

heres a question
why not choose who they like the most of tracy/reynolds/conor jackson (say pick 2) trade the third for some help at 2b maybe (o. hudson got hurt again? so if they dont keep him/like burke and the other guy whose filling in now) and move dunn back to 1b?
i doubt they do but theres always that chance…
