8/12 vs Red Sox post mortem

What? Only post game threads after a victory. I am not about to look through 400 postings on the gameday thread. So...

Bad things happen when a pitcher throws the ball down the middle of the plate.

When it was 10 -0 is wished the Red Sox would score 31. When it was 12 -10 I said the Rangers would need 20 to win.

Josh Lewin said it best. This game is representative of the Rangers season. Lots of hits and runs. Errors. Bad pitching.

On the bright side, Papelbon had to pitch tonight and Eddie didn't.

crazy game in all

but it all came down to Ron Washington’s inability to handle a bullpen. he puts in wright after Madrigal dominated the 6th inning then he leaves in Fransisco instead of putting in Guardado who hasnt blown a lead all year.

he is retarted

DEAR GOD YOU'RE STUPID!!!!!!

The pitchers failed to execute in every sense possible. This was a complete team pitching fail. These guys are major league pitchers and pitched at a mediocre AA level tonight. Don’t put this on Washington. I’ll pretend you were kidding… really.

Aikman and Bradshaw?

Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

so because or pitching was sucking the whole game we should just give up??

i hope YOU are kidding. im so stupid for wanting the guy who is 24 for 24 in save oppurtunities to get 4 outs instead of 3. i guess the Red Sox should just give up because they blew a 10-run lead or because they have a AAA knuckle-baller pitching. It is Washington’s fault, he leaves in a guy after he let 10 runs in ONE INNING, then he leaves in fransisco who had no command of his fastball

who do you bring guardado in to face?

certanially not pedroia or youkilis. don’t intenionally walk ortiz and bring eddie in? you want to avoid pitching to ortiz at all costs in the late innings of tight games. fransico has been pretty good this year, nothing wrong with leaving him in in that situation.

by selppuc on Aug 12, 2008 11:27 PM CDT up reply actions

forget all of that matchup stuff

guardado is a better pitcher than fransisco and he is much better under pressure situations.

guardado could face Youk. Franky also blew the 8th inning lead against the Yankees by the way

people on here are more about dissing people than talking about baseball so...

you know eddie should be in there but your just too much of ignorant dumbass to realize it and process it through a your pebble mind

No...

People on here love to talk baseball. With others that know what the fuck they are talking about. You clearly don’t know shit about baseball if you are blaming last nights loss on Wash.

Not so fast...

Warner should have been left in…I was sceaming at the TV when I saw Wright in there. Yes the pitching sucked ass but Ron made a few more questionable calls.

WHOOOOAAAHHH...

al tad bit heavy handed wouldn’t ya say??

I've never seen a pitcher with "bone spur" issues throw 96 mph. The only spurs I'm aware of are the spurs that Wash has buried in C J's ass as he rides him. I love ya C J but welcome to Wash's DOGHOUSE.

Not to have everyone attack me like the others but...

I am ready for the RW era to be over as well. This team will never get over the hump with RW at the controls. This team was not ready to play last night, the biggest chance of the year to make a statement and it is 10-0 before the your ass gets warm in the couch. Just like the the start of the last 2 seasons nad the times we tried to get over.500. I know people are going to say we have no pitching and we have alot of rookies and all. I don’t buy it, I feel we are winning in spite of RW. The errors and Unearned runs are rediculous and that falls on the manager. I hope we have rookies excell, but lose so we can end this era and get a manager in here. I do not want to wait till we are 5-15 to start the season next year. Please Nolan do it before next year.

by Ranger Capt on Aug 13, 2008 8:54 AM CDT reply actions

RW

The Rangers are over .500 in spite of the injuries, lack of pitching talent and the errors. They scored 17 runs last night. They where ready to play.

ps. I hope someon enails Youkilis in the ribs tonight.

Nolan Ryan should be the Rangers president, GM, manager and pitching coach.

Because I don't like him.

He is one of those players that you hate until he is on your team. Then you love him.

I love this team but i am tired of seeing the just stupid in game decisions day in and day out! Im pretty sure Nolan cant stand RW and if this team finishes anywhere below .500, i feel pretty confident that RW is gone and i am somewhat rooting for that, even though i will loose a C note in the process for betting we would be over .500. Thanks for an interesting and fun year RW but good ritens!

how is it Ron’s fault that Scooter came out serving up gopher balls to David Ortiz? Look, we’re all frustrated and looking for somewhere to place blame, and when all else fails, its easy to just pin it on the manager. But last night it was on the players, specifically the pitching.

If you have some sort of proof that its Ron’s fault that our pitchers suck, then by all means, put it on the table so we can all jump on your bandwagon. But unless you do, its mindless drivel. Sometimes even your most consistent pitchers struggle. It just so happens that we happen to have very few consistent pitchers, which makes it even more frustrating in games like that one.

by 6th street on Aug 13, 2008 9:09 AM CDT reply actions

This game was no ones fault

Washington could have brought in CY Young to pitch to Youk and it would have been same result, did you see the intensity in that guys eyes, it was his destiny it was the sox and rangers destiny…....I know i am full of Chit, oh well it was fun to watch until that last inning.

by TRFAN on Aug 13, 2008 9:13 AM CDT reply actions

Things would have been different

If Frankie didn’t fall behind 2-0 in the count and didn’t groove a fastball down the middle of the plate, especially since the batters were focusing on hitting the fastball since that was all Frankie could throw for a strike.

by hiafex on Aug 13, 2008 9:24 AM CDT up reply actions

17 runs......

17 fucking runs and a loss.

Thats all I gotta say.

by SaltyGoesYard on Aug 13, 2008 9:38 AM CDT reply actions

Laird

Shouldn’t Laird get some blame in this fiasco? FX2 hangs a curveball to Pedroia. He then grooves a FB to Youkilis and strikesout Casey with a splitter. Why was Frankie throwing so many curveballs? It is his 3rd of 4th best pitch. Did he throw the splitter before the one to Casey?

Nolan Ryan should be the Rangers president, GM, manager and pitching coach.

Just two things...

Watching this team play defense and attempt to pitch is very painful most of the time.
