Who I want in playoffs

The Rangers are so unlikely to make the playoffs that I'm thinking through alternatives that would keep my attention until the baseball meetings in December. Of course, Rangers' minor league affiliates will be at the top of my postseason must-pay-attention list.

Other than that, I'm hoping for Rays, White Sox, Twins, Angels and Marlins, Cubs, Brewers, Dodgers. I've got the Dodgers in there just because I don't want all of California focused on the the Angels. In the World Series, I would love to see Twins-Brewers thumb their noses at the big market teams. I'll forget about ML baseball until the Winter Meetings if the postseason ends up with Red Sox, Yanks, White Sox, Angels and Philly, Cubs, Dodgers, Mets.

World Series

I want Cubs and Twins
or
Marlins and Rays, (MLB would freak out)

Fish/Rays would be AWESOME.

Though I think I’d rather see ChC and TB. The headlines in that one might be the best EVER.

Selig

I would like to see the Rays or Twins win it all. Then Gardenhire or Madden can tell Selig to shove contraction up his @$$.

Nolan Ryan should be the Rangers president, GM, manager and pitching coach.

It's almost impossible for me to care about postseason ball if

it lacks either a small revenue club or the Rangers. The last time I felt really excited about the postseason was when Kerry Wood and Mark Prior were bursting onto the scene.

I could get similarly excited about Kazmir, Shields, Garza or Liriano, Baker, Slowey.

Nice to see the Yanks getting beat by the Twins again.

Go Rangers!

It's the playoffs, man

I can’t help but get excited.

Concur

Although I always root for the underdog/small market team. I wouldn’t mind the Cubbies being in the mix, just for the storyline.

Yuppers

I do the same.

Right now I’m just rooting non-stop for the Yanks and Sawx to both miss the playoffs. OMG. That would make me pee blood in delight. Like, really, it would. I hate the Sawx so much!

and why would that be?

Personally, I’d be more focused on the small market teams like the Rays

I want the Marlins to make it

and then lose because they don’t have a good catcher…

Ha!

Aikman and Bradshaw?

Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

I don't care who wins the World Series...............

............as long as it isn’t those filthy, stinkin’ Cubs.

The Cardinals aren’t good enough to derail Chicago this season, so I will be rooting for anyone that faces the Cubs.

Nope............

I’m a Cardinals fan. Born and raised in St. Louis, moved to TX at the age of 16. I have always hated and will always hate the Cubs.

Cubs year to win it

about every 100 years, they can pull one off.

I'd love to see

Rays, White Sox, Twins, Angels. Angels and Sox get elimanted first then the Rays go to the WS.

Phillies, Cubs, Brewers, D-backs. Phillies and D-backs get eliminated first then the Cubs go to the WS.

Then the Cubs beat the Rays in the WS.

I'd like to see the Rays in the postseason

They’re the model of sucess I think the Rangers will eventually imitate.

The Phillies are my favorite NL team, so ideally, I’d like to see a Rays/Phils World Series – and as far as who I hope gets creamed, the Angels, White Sox and Cubs are who I don’t want to see make it to the postseason.

Oh, and the Yankees

Don’t want to see them in the postseason either.

Rangers or bust...

Other than that I just cheer for the Yanks and Halos to lose.

Mets/Yankees baby

Nothing beats a Subway series in the final year of those 2 ballparks.

I think anything beats a subway series.

Like literally any matchup between any two teams. No offense, though, just my personal preference.

just to piss off the TV dorks, no money in that match up

by TRFAN on Aug 13, 2008 9:29 PM CDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

and oh yeah, one more thing

i will be ok with any team making it, as long as it’s not the stinkin yankees

Postseason

Here would be my guess for my teams in the postseason
Angels,
Twins
Rays
Sox

Arizona
Cubs
Brewers
Phillies

If those are my options, I’d love to see TB/Arizona or Milwaukee. Or see the Cubs get to the WS to choke.

Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.

I so

want to see the Rays advance, just think they’ll be fun to watch. Rays-Cubbies or Rays-Brewers might be fun WS matchups. If the Rays don’t make it, I’d like to see them scare the crap out of the Red Sox taking them to a 7th game or something.

Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.
