yikes
We clearly no longer even slightly care about this season. I guess I can’t blame them- with pitching so bad it’s almost indescribable, there has to be a lot of tension between hitters and pitching.
My concern is they are going to destroy the confidence of heaps more rookie pitchers by tossing them into the fire the rest of this season. No use sending someone with any sort of potential out there to total up a double-digit era- these guys (Hunter, Mendoza, etc.. clearly are not even remotely close to major league caliber yet).

Well, the point is
You’re not gonna be able to accquire any young ace pitchers via trade without giving up some pitching yourself. And based on what we’ve seen in the past, it’s just not worth it.
Really, the best thing we can do for our pitching staff is just try to sign somebody like Ben Sheets or Derek Lowe in the offseason, and ride things out until our good young pitchers come of age. Thats kind of what Tampa Bay has done, and look where they are now.

Yeah get a competent starter-
but we need 2 or 3 guys that can just hold up health wise and have around a 5 or 6 era- as mediocre as that is, it’s a LOT LOT better than entering a game with no chance to win as we are right now.
PLus with our offense a guy with a 6 era could win 12 times or more. It’s not like we need freaking Santana- we just need someone who is familiar with the basics of major league pitching.

The offense might be as good or better than most we’ve seen, but it’s the same story, different year. Why are you surprised? This staff wasn’t expected to be worth a bag of turds at the start of the year. What will happen: 4 months will pass…. we’ll miss baseball….hopefully the Rangers will make some moves… we’ll have that whole hope springs eternal thing going on….. and we’ll be back here hoping for the best.
Aikman and Bradshaw?
Please. They are in the same league as Trent Dilfer and Jim McMahon as QBs who were taken to the SB by great Defenses and great Running Games.

Nothing is different.
That’s why I am angry about it. I don’t at all see the level of commitment to WINNING from Hicks that I see from most other owners.
Hey, it could be worse...

K, well, you're making your stand now?
Drawing your line in the sand? Had enough? I’ve had 20+years… I’m in it for the long haul, buddy. They’re my team, suck, suck, or suck.

Yes they have
They’ve given up hope that you’ll ever say anything intellegent.
We need to hire Chuck Norris to kick the ass of any Ranger fan caught booing one of our young pitchers at the RBiA.

I have been with them since the very beginning.
1972- and I am so pissed exactly because they are my team. Being a fan to me means you care deeply and you expect the best product.
I wouldn’t prove my “fan” worth by blithely accepting stunning incompetence. Just how I see it, reasonable people can see iftother ways.

but it CAN'T be worse this time.
I mean really, it almost can’t- at least pitching wise. (Not that this is not a familiar refrain with long-term fans)

well. another ugly one down.
it might just be me but it sure looks like a lot of these guys have just compeletely mailed it in. i can only imagine how frustrating this must be for the likes of IK, MY, JH, GL and CD. Im sure they are just tired of this bull crap that gets on the mound everyd day!!

Yeah.. this might get historically ugly...
We may have to absoultely nuclear detonate any and everything in the entire organization about pitching development and philosophy.
This is just not acceptable.

well that was a sucky game.
Plus the idiots next to us were talking about anything but the game and making my brain bleed out my ears.
Yay, we’re going tomorrow, too. I’m tempted to stay here with y’all.
Now I’m just waiting for Smoak. Got to get something good out of this night.
