Kinsler to the DL, possibly out for the season
Didn't see this posted anywhere yet - but per Evan Grant, Kinsler will be going on the DL and could possibly be out the rest of the season. Per the previous blog entry, Arias will replace him.
Just when you think it can't get any worse on the injury front.... it does. I'm almost glad all the wild card speculation had pretty much died down, because the way the remains of the season are going, the entire lineup will be on the DL except for Michael Young, who will continue to play despite two broken feet, arthiritis, and indigestion.

Somebody's going to take the fall for the rash of injuries this season
I don’t know if it’s going to be strength and conditioning coach Jose Vazquez (an apparently popular figure in the clubhouse) or somebody else, but the proverbial S is going to hit the fan this off-season.
This really sucks.

one idea
i think that mlb should contract the team and let us start over in a couple of years – new owner, new stadium, new team name, new everything. i don’t think i can take this any longer.

sucks for kins but
im not terribly bothered by this. it isnt like we were gonna do much this year, but at least now we get a better draft pick and give yet another propsect a chance at some playing time in the big leagues

You should be because this was going to be Kinsler's
first injury free year…that went to shit. He’s not really proving to be very durable right now.

At this point, though, the only thing I like about the Rangers anymore is watching the good player play well.
The best of them is now out. My interest in the season just plumetted.

The real question is move MY pver to 2B for the rest of the way and play Arias at SS
to see if he can do it everyday, or would that be a slap in the face to FOTF?
by laxtonto on Aug 18, 2008 5:59 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
hell yeah that would be a slap in the ole Franchise Face
especially since Arias can’t make the throw from the hole anymore.
Warner Madrigal makes Ezequiel Astacio look downright handsome.

Joaquin
Now you’ll get to see his defense yourself! Once in a while you’ll hold your breath on his throws (or more often if you are me!) but I think he’ll do fine. We are sure going to miss him on our playoff run though….I like Casey and all, but he can’t compare to Joaquin.

Maybe Thomas or Adam
can come up and help you out. Or maybe Renny up from Damon’s team.
Offense doesn't doubt me, but my first and primemost thing is defense and punt return and kickoff return

Or Elvis
Since he’s actually a SS and spent most of the year in AA. Otherwise we’ll probably get someone from Bakersfield since they are the only team not going to the playoffs. Renny would be AWESOME, I didn’t think of him. He can flash some leather!!

Arias or Vazquez
Whos gonna get the majority of the playing time. With Blalock coming back to play 1st and Davis moving to 3rd will we give Arias the playing time at 2nd and keep Vazquez as the utility guy or let Vazquez play 2nd and play Arias occasionally?

Arias
should at least play against LHP since the other three are LHB. Otherwise, we’ll have to see what Wash’s genius plan turns out to be.

has earned the right to lose the job.

Can Arias throw from short yet?
If so, I’m thinking we should move MY back to second for the rest of the year.

and he’s put me one point off of fist so far. So I’m in trouble. But I fortunately have had Howie Kendrick sitting on my bench all year, so maybe it’ll be fine..m=

the good part is
that now teams like Detroit, Toronto, and Houston can pass us meaning we dont have to give up our first round pick if we sign a type A pitcher like Sheets

So sad for Kinsler
He was having a heck of a year. I’m trying to remain optimistic and hope he isn’t done for the season, but I don’t want him playing injured. Especially when there are only six weeks or so left in the season (does that make anyone else sad?).
Get well, Kins.

He says it was a play in Sunday's game
They showed it on the post-game show Monday night. He tried to stretch it out, but said it just kept nagging him. He did NOT sound optimistic about playing again this season. But still thinks this team is in the wild card hunt. So…you decide whether he’s an optimist or not.
