Isn't the definition of insanity

doing something the same way, expecting a different result?

by awillis111 on Aug 19, 2008 6:16 PM CDT up reply actions

i don't think that quite applies to this.

3-2 is a very basic score. it will be achieved eventually. i mean, it’s not as common as 5-4 but probably more common than 11-8 (maybe not, considering these ARE the rangers).

i like einstein. read a biography on him earlier this year. not digging that quote in rangers circles. we could apply that definition of insanity to the rangers management i’m sure.

There’s a stationary line forming near the Weatherford area that could eventually impact tonight’s proceedings. If I had to guess, they’ll get this in – but a rain delay wouldn’t shock me.

Ian Kinsler saw surgical oncologist John Preskitt, M.D., today and the news
was good, relatively speaking. Reports indicate that Kinsler’s sports
hernia is on the mild end, with no torn muscles or ligaments but instead
“just” an inflammation of the abdominal wall, and it’s not a lock that his
season is over. Doctors will reevaluate the injury in two weeks before
deciding if surgery will be necessary.

Just as well that they did. The skies just opened up and the game is in a delay. So I’m not sure if they pulled him knowing bad weather was coming and they didn’t want him pitching on a muddy hill or if he is on a strict pitch count.

he could start right now for us.

"I’m sure you’ve seen Kiker before but I’ll just reiterate that the kid is mean on the mound. He is only 5’10’’ but he is an intimidator. He looks like he hates hitters. He has the juice for pressure situations."

Nolan Ryan could be the ace too.

Sad really.

I miss pitching.

The Kuebler-Ross Model of Rangers Pitching

Step 1: Denial (It’s just bad luck, none of the balls were hit that hard…. If it was 5 inches to the left, they’d been outs)
Step 2: Anger ( WHY CAN’T YOU THROW A FUCKING STRIKE???!!? )
Step 3: Bargaining ( If we just hold them to 2 runs this inning, our offense will have a chance in the bottom of the 9th! )
Step 4: Depression ( Another 3-run home run by a scrub… why do I even bother… )
Step 5: Insanity ( Don’t worry, we have a ton of up-and-coming prospects who will turn into aces in a couple of years! )

Isn't Padilla supposed to be, you know, good?

12-6, yet has a 6.5 ERA over last 10 games, an almost-5 ERA for the season, horrible WHIP, etc. Talk about benefiting from good run support and being massively overrated…

we should

trade him and just cover up his ERA from the other teams

What's the deal with Detroit and Boston?

Did the baseball gods just predetermine that the Rangers would suck ass against these two teams this season? The freakish, heart-breaking ways they’ve found to lose every game they’ve played against these clubs is beyond depressing.

by Athos on Aug 19, 2008 9:18 PM CDT reply actions

The deal is

They’re two teams with great offenses. And we can’t stop them.

A Lonestar in California

We need to hire Chuck Norris to kick the ass of any Ranger fan caught booing one of our young pitchers at the RBiA.
