Saturday's Post Game Thoughts
Pretty good game despite the rangers losing. Burnett just had his stuff working and things didnt go the Ranger's way. For instance Feldman throwing the ball in center, Wilkerson not making a catch even though it was called a catch, getting thrown out at home, and another bad call when the jays stole which ended up costing us a run.
What if What if What if. but we easily could have won that game. The one thing we could have controlled is putting in Wright in the 6th, i dont get why Wash didnt put in Franky?? Franky has been great in those situations and Wright hasnt really been good in any situation. But at least Feldman pitched a great game and he easily could have not allowed those 2 runs.
Bradley still hurt, Chris is slumping or at least it seems like he is, Madrigal hasnt pitched since Monday, I think Boggs should be playing everyday instead of bryd, Rupe looked great

that one I can understand because it was neary impossible to tell
still annoying though.
however, the stolen base and caught off 1st.. i had excellent views of those plays and I swear, as unbiased as i can be, I saw 100% those calls were wrong from 100s of feet away. Why cant the ump get it right 5 feet away.

I'm frustrated by a lot of things as well...
You did highlight most of those though.
One of my biggest frustrations was, in my opinion, another questionable managerial decision by Wash when taking Feldman out of the game after 93 pitches with guys on 1st and 2nd. Like, I understand Feldman was getting tired and maybe needed to be conservative in his pitch count, but damnit that poor guy has been getting the worst breaks of any pitcher this season that I’ve seen in a long, long time. I feel like Scott deserved a chance to work himself out of that jam and get out of the inning, but yet again, Ron taken out a pitcher when it’s not a good time to, though most of the time he waits too long. But that was just one of several things.
The umpiring would be #2. I don’t know where the umpires come from these days, but I could walk up there and do a better job of calling balls and strikes. It’s pathetic, some of the calls we have to put up with. And it’s not a recent development either. It’s been going on since at least 2004. Absolutely dreadful, and I’m sick of being the team that seems to get the bad end of the deal the majority of the time.
Lastly, the bullpen. Jamey Wright has fallen off of the proverbial cliff since the middle of June, CJ can’t do anything right to save his life, most of the other guys are inconsistent at best, save maybe Rupe and FF, and it’s getting old watching them give up run after run after run. I think the pitching coach change was a good one, which will help the club in the season’s remainder, as well as in the future. But, I for one am sick of the bullpen’s implosions.
That is all. For now.

Agree.
Jamey was the wrong guy to put in there to close up that scenario. Bottom line is that he hasn’t been getting it done (probably a big reason why he hadn’t pitched in 3 days until tonight), and Ron needed to put in someone who we could count on to get us out of a jam like that. He simply didn’t.
However, I disagree with the entire move of getting Feldman out of the game to begin with. Just for clarification.

Just saw about 2/3 of the game
On TV, since I was busy and had to leave twice during the broadcast. So I may have missed some critical calls, and my opinion of them looking at replay is too profane to post here. It isn’t occasional bad calls, folks, although those get the attention. It’s a case of more than a couple of actually incompetent umpires, and somehow we land two of them in this crew. Also, I empathize with Wright. FWIW, he’s overworked, and being dependent of stuff not velocity, is especially taxed by the overwork.
After the game ended, I’ve just listened to this, more than once. Fits my mood.

You think Ian is more expendable? How? At least with Davis we have Smoak who can probably be here in two years.

FRANKIE
Is there a reason that we don’t just let Frankie Francisco pitch every inning for this team out of the bullpen. I know its a lot of innings but he is the only one in there that is any good. I mean maybe Guardado and Rupe every once in a while, but mostly Frankie.
