Okay

Had to warm up 3 times after a rain delay and was a little wild, but he only gave up 1 run. All things considered, he did pretty well, but the bullpen melted down right after we took a 6 run lead.

Say, did you get my e-mail re: the sig thing?

Random Question

why the hell do we keep running feldman out there? This is getting absurd IMO. I don’t understand why we don’t put him in the pen and roll with Padilla, BMAc, Millwood, Nippert, and Harrison for the rest of the year. We’ve been hearing about this move since the all star break and he’s still getting put out there. Its starting to piss me off

by erikj07 on Aug 24, 2008 10:03 PM CDT reply actions

noooooooooooo

closers pitch better with their back against the wall. look at the best closer ever, mariano, he sucks when the game is tied

first of all hes not even blowing them, he untied a game and he let in 2 runs when we were down by one. besides im not sayin he is doing it on purpose, YOU have to be a complete ignorant fool to think that.

i really like how you attack because i put the stats up. nice job

by Steal Home on Aug 24, 2008 10:57 PM CDT up reply actions

You're so dense...

I just got done reading your bullshit in another thread about how Beavan has to throw 95 to be successful and now you are defending the 84 mph frisbee throwing Guardado? He’s been lucky this year, period. He doesn’t have the stuff to close. It has nothing to do with having his back against the wall, he has 1 pitch and relies on location and that will only get you so far. Mariano is great because of his stuff, specifically his cutter. Does Eddie have that pitch?

You’re a walking contradiction of yourself. Each think you post being stupider than the last. Here’s a stat for you. you are 77/79 in dumbass posts. Figure out your average on that one.

by slc ranger on Aug 24, 2008 11:04 PM CDT up reply actions

"He doesn’t have the stuff to close"

first of all his 2 recent outings weren’t when he was closing.

second, im talkin about prospects, in the beavan thing

third, Mariono is good okay we all know it, but he does suck in non-save situations games just like eddie has the last two games

fourth, im not contradiciting myself, im saying its much much more likely that you will be a good big league pitcher if you have a 95 mph fastball versus a 89 mph one

and fifth, hes been lucky this year????? are you kidding, hes a good career

once again. 27 for 27. get over it, your a dumbass who likes to fight with me, good job, get a life , go home, your an idiot……that should do it

Stop running for Bradley in the 8th when he isn’t the tying or go-ahead run!!! I know he’s made of paper mache, but he’s the best hitter on the team this season. Sure would be nice to have him in his spot in the order in the 9th.

I have nothing against Washington. I think he gets way too much blame for the sucktitude of this team. But letting this happen twice in 3 games is ridiculous.

Howe is worse than Wash. In fact, he might be the reason why Wash is such a dunderhead.

And me

To me, Boggs has more OF essentials, beginning with a stronger and more accurate arm. Switch hitter, some power potential, plus all that Adam mentioned.

by rangers85 on Aug 24, 2008 10:25 PM CDT up reply actions

Who?

The trainer? I mean… I don’t know what you’re looking for. The pitching/bullpen coaches are new this year. They’ll probably be given a chance. I think JD will be given at least next year to see if his trade projects pan out. He also needs to make a serious run at a frontline FA SP. I’m not thrilled with Washington, but he seems to have maintained a close-knit clubhouse and kept the team together after a 9-18 start. He’ll also probably get one more year.

that being said...

… if they go out and sign CC or Sheets in the offseason, along with a Garland (ha, I’m dreaming for all that, but it’s my comment, so whatever…) and they go down the shitter next year, I’ll be royally pissed. This was not supposed to be a year we contended, so it’s much easier to swallow. It’d be nice to finish 2nd in the division and build for next year.

Well signing a FA pitcher isn't my #1 solution for the upcoming offseason

But I agree, it’ll be a huge dissapointment if this team doesn’t improve next year. I think health will be the biggest factor though, not offseason moves. They’ve got to get Padilla, McCarthy and Hurley all healthy and all pitching well if they’re going to get anyplace.

Maybe the strength/conditioning staff

And if I had my way Wash and Howe. But other than that, who are you gonna fire? Nolan ain’t going anyplace, and JD is the one responsible for restocking our system and giving us some semblance of hope.

The current state of the team is mainly due to injuries and growing pains, and I don’t see how any firings in the management dept. would do anything to fix that.

Hmmmm,

less than 15,000 to see that shit, 5 games under .500 in late August, a 7 game roadie…Washington & JD probably shouldn’t feel too safe.

Took a lot of crap early this month for saying I hadn’t given up on my 76-86 prediction still coming thru – just sayin’.

No

April set the tone for the season and put us behind the 8-ball at 9 games under .500. With the Angels and wild card leaders being so far in front this month, this streak is inconsequential by comparison.

lets start predictions for tommorows loss

A- Scott Feldman pitches great but the offense sucks (3 runs or less)
B-Scott Feldman pitches great, gets the lead, but the bullpen blows it
C-Feldman pitches horribly and its a blowout
D-Feldman pitches OK, the offense manages to get the lead while the relievers are in but a reliever gives up the lead and gets the loss
E-Rangers get a huge lead then Feldman blows it
F-Rangers get a huge lead then the bullpen blows it
G-Rangers lose in extras

tiebreaker- predict the amount of runs and hits by the royals

I give up

apparently the Indians are good.

…that was about the most uninterested i’ve been at a ballgame since the Verlander shut-out last year.

my boredom reached the point where i was scoping the crowd for scantily dressed chicks… and was totally oblivious to a foul ball that was eight feet away from me.

This team is making me hate baseball right now.

We went to the game tonight and everything about it felt like everyone was just going through the motions. The crowd was tiny; the atmosphere was dead; the hitters didn’t hit a ball hard all night; the fans seemed reluctant to cheer about anything—it was a really crappy night all around.
