I just saw an item that said that J.P. Ricciardi was hired as the Blue Jays g.m. in November, 2001.
That was the same time John Hart was hired. Ricciardi has been the g.m. for Toronto as far back as when Hart first came on board with Texas...the offseason where we lost all our draft picks for signing Todd Van Poppel, Jay Powell, Juan Gonzalez, and Chan Ho Park.
That seems like a long, long, long time ago...

He gets canned this offseason. He’s done little to improve the team, and ran his mouth a few times this season, made himself look like a jackass.

around the same time Hart “resigned”. He just sucks as a GM and makes it even worse by opening his mouth every day

Not sure his current minor league crop points the arrow upwards.
His job can’t last much longer, and having the Rays blew by him can’t help.
