Pitching matchup
Two former White Sox. Brandon “made of glass” McCarthy vs. Jon “cockroach above chin” Garland.
by chrisR on Aug 28, 2008 8:15 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Three things
1. Been watching the track on Gustav, and the greater NOLA area is probably in big trouble if this thing goes crazy like we’ve seen happen before. If it stays on a westerly track it’ll eventually impact DFW, and could make things interesting in Houston long before that.
2. Best wishes to LSB’s and BTiA’s own Jason Parks, who is tying the knot on Labor Day.
3. Brandon McCarthy. Hell yeah.

Well
If it hits around houston then keeps moving north we’ll get lots of rain probably some severe weather too like tornadoes. It just depends on which way it goes after it makes landfall.

we’re going to Houston/Round Rock/San Marcos from Saturday to Tuesday. Forecast track so far looks OK – hopefully it doesn’t speed up!

Yeah that fucker almost ruined my Labor Day weekend. We were called to day and told to mobilize this weekend to Ft Polk, LA so we could go from there with the rescue missions. Luckily they decided to just wait here till Tuesday or Wednesday and then mobilize once we know exactly where and what damage was done.

The first inning
And this is purely from the television angle, he looked to be a much shorter stride. When he shortens his stride he ends up going on his tip toes because of his height. The 2nd inning he looked alot more balanced after he released the ball. Just my amateur opinion

Haven’t been able to do shit with 07 or Vista cause neither can function with the stair-step algorithm programs for problem solving with linear and non linear programming.

I wonder if we can do an exchange of bad contracts
Michael Young for Todd Helton

Ugh
McCarthy deserved better than this. Based on his line….I missed the whole game.

Yeah
B-Mac gave up quite a few hard hit balls, but most of them went for outs. I was very happy with his outing, but the bullpen… my god, the bullpen.
We need to hire Chuck Norris to kick the ass of any Ranger fan caught booing one of our young pitchers at the RBiA.

I blame Wright
He did the bulk of the damage

I blame Warsh
For horrible bullpen management. Benoit looked amazing and he took him out… Just… took him out… begins tearing up

No doubt
I don’t see what Wash sees in him. He’s a decent mid-reliever, but by no means should he be pitching the 8th inning right now. Of course, our other options are Jack Benny and Mad Dog right now, but JB has pitched a lot better of late…

This is the way I see it.
We win, it’s all good. Hopefully the youngsters played well.
We lose, it’s all good. Gotta improve the draft pick so we don’t lose it in case if we sign a Type A.
It’s a win/win.

does anyone know how many runs we've walked in this year?

21
Counting tonight. 4 HBP’s.
By comparison, we have 28 K’s with the bases loaded.

this was written by a Giants fan in 2006....
Again, it’s stupid to have Tim Lincecum going lights out in San Jose while Jamey Wright blows another winnable game. And there’s only one song that’s appropriate to describe Wright: “You’re No Good,” written by Clint Ballard Jr. and popularized by Linda Ronstadt in 1975 —
Feelin’ better, now that we’re through
Feelin’ better ‘cause I’m over you
I’ve learned my lesson, it left a scar
But now I see how you really are
You’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I’m gonna say it again
You’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I broke a heart, that’s gentle and true
Well, I broke a heart over someone like you
I’ll beg his forgiveness on bended knee
I wouldn’t blame him if he said to me
You’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good
Baby, you’re no good
I’m gonna say it again
You’re no good, you’re no good, you’re no good
Baby, you’re no good

this was at the beginning of the blog post
one could feel the deep dread as Jamey Wright walked in from the pen to put the game out of reach (even though the Giants would score 8 runs) with a stunning display of ineffectiveness — at one point, pitching the ball so wildly that it bounced in front of the plate, bounced off Todd Greene and over the screen & into the stands.
