Three things
1. Been watching the track on Gustav, and the greater NOLA area is probably in big trouble if this thing goes crazy like we’ve seen happen before. If it stays on a westerly track it’ll eventually impact DFW, and could make things interesting in Houston long before that.
2. Best wishes to LSB’s and BTiA’s own Jason Parks, who is tying the knot on Labor Day.
3. Brandon McCarthy. Hell yeah.

If it hits around houston then keeps moving north we’ll get lots of rain probably some severe weather too like tornadoes. It just depends on which way it goes after it makes landfall.

we’re going to Houston/Round Rock/San Marcos from Saturday to Tuesday. Forecast track so far looks OK – hopefully it doesn’t speed up!

Gustav
Yeah that fucker almost ruined my Labor Day weekend. We were called to day and told to mobilize this weekend to Ft Polk, LA so we could go from there with the rescue missions. Luckily they decided to just wait here till Tuesday or Wednesday and then mobilize once we know exactly where and what damage was done.

And this is purely from the television angle, he looked to be a much shorter stride. When he shortens his stride he ends up going on his tip toes because of his height. The 2nd inning he looked alot more balanced after he released the ball. Just my amateur opinion

When he lengthens his stride its releasing alot closer to the plate than a normal size persons. Probably makes it similar to a 92/93 mph fastball. Where he gets in trouble is when he shortens his stride and its only an 88 mph FB.

Tons of hard hit balls
lucky so far for BMac, but I’ll take it

Good job B-Mac
Just an okay outing considering all the hard hit balls (especially early in the game) but his stuff got better as the night went along. I’m pretty happy with this start.
