Strum

I guess the reasons for the Ticket’s popularity has escaped me. I have listened to BADRADIO and I think it is aptly named. Bob and Dan seem to know less about any sport than any of the other myriad of sports talkers in the DFW area. The Hardline is less about sports than about them. Now that the coke head is gone it is not even interesting anymore. I don’t get up early enough to listen to the morning clowns (Dunham and Miller) Norm for me is way to over analytical and is most interested in his own HSO’s . Maybe I am just an old guy that the hipness of the Ticket has escaped.

I will say that I think the ticket used to be a lot better....

ticket

that is about the time when I listened. I had a job that required me to be in and out of my car all day. It was easy to listen to but I tried two weeks ago and it was just un-listenable to me. How is that for a HSO?

The hardline, pre-Corby

was amazing. When it was Mike, Gregg, Danny and Followill.

I loved Folly-well climbing mount 12 big ones. And Danny is still my favorite of the Hardline crew.

FWIW…...The best thing on The Ticket is The Orphanage and Ben and Skin Mix. I highly recommend the Ticket finding a way to make this foursome into a full time show, preferably between 3-7.

FWIW2…..The best show on The Ticket is BaD Radio, hands down. The oh so gentle Musers come in a distant 4th, behind BaD, Hardline, and Norman, IMHO.

Amazing?

What were you, 12? You are a victim of your age there. The show sucked. Greg has no business on the radio, and Mike was in a career slump at that time. Followill was good at his job, but it’s not like he added much to their show.

Just your opinion.

There are and were plenty of people older than you who agree with Agreen’s sentiments. No need to be insulting.

by brettgardner on Aug 3, 2008 10:23 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree with Z and don't see an insult in what he said

not a lot of 12 yo’s can critique great radio lol

by slash on Aug 4, 2008 1:56 AM CDT up reply actions

It's insulting

Because it not only implies that a 12-year-old can’t critique a radio show, which is complete bullshit, but it also suggests that anyone older than 12 who listened to, and liked, the show had the judgment and/or mentality of a child, which is rather insulting I think.

I hear ya....

I actually think that BaD Radio is the only good show left.

The Hardline is definitely a show without substance now. The only bit they have left is everyone picking on Rhynes. Danny’s bad attitude helps with the bit. With Rhynes’ disinterest in everything, along with the lack of sports knowledge of Corby and Danny, not any sports opinions are worth listening to.

The morning show throws out the most generic sports opinions ever…....pretty much about as informative as Jean-Jacque talking about the Rangers. They pretty much just try to rely on Gordo to give the show any value.

Norm is awesome when I want to hear about the latest big thing that has happened to a local sports team. However, his show is mostly bogged down with interviews with people that throw out only sports cliches…......boring!!

The worst show in the history of sports talk radio is the Michael Irvin show!! Irvin only cares about the black man and the other guy is just a straight up idiot!!!!!!!!!

i like baseball too

D&M are good

The chemistry those guys have is tremendous.
Norm’s got plenty of flaws, but he’s the closest thing to a sports expert in Dallas radio. That being said, there are probably several dozen on this board alone who know more about this franchise as it stands now than he does.
I respect BAD’s greatness, but Dan inexplicably irritates me too much for to listen on most days.
The Hardline is struggl-uggling and need another cohost, but we’re finding out that Corby really does have something. He’s not good enough to headlinethe top drive-time show in a major market with a co-host who no longer cares, but with an infusion of new blood (Whitt? Followill? I have to think they’ve got too much time invested in other projects) they’ll be fine.

unfortunately

the ratings will keep mgt from making any changes on the Hardline. They are absolutely dominating right now.

Michael Irvin's show

I would listen to Michael but Kevin Kiley is like you said an idiot. Why is he here? I hate him.

I am surprised that two egos that big could even be in the same room. Music is a better option than sports radio in the DFW area.

Don't try to listen to The Musers talk baseball.

I go straight to the CDs every time. BaD is my favorite program on the Ticket, but I seldom have a chance to listen to it, because I’m usually at work. What I like about the show is that those guys actually do some work prior to the show (Especially Bob). Sports Sturm is a great segment. The last one I caught was Bob looking into Ian’s Range, which is great for baseball newbs out there who want to move Ian to left field. That is the opposite of the Hardline. It seems like they just show up and go through the motions most days. Not to mention Corby’s ego inflates by the day. This makes it harder and harder for me to listen to them. There will be a good segment every now and then, but Corby is way out of his element when it comes to baseball.

Let’s be honest though, the Ticket is just dragging its feet through the off season. Pretty soon every sports segment will be dedicated to the Cowboys or College football. We’ll be lucky to catch a Rangers box score on the Ticker.

Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.
