Sunday morning things

Evan Grant's game story talks about the frustrations of the month of August and how they've taken a toll on this team.  In particular, he takes Gerald Laird and Ron Washington to task for arguing with Dale Scott on the blown call at home plate, and ignoring Mike Napoli, which allowed Napoli to advance all the way to third, and score on the suicide squeeze.  And I agree, that's inexcusable, and a sign of a team that has already mentally checked out.

David Murphy and Ian Kinsler hope to return to the lineup by the end of this week, although the S-T says Kinsler won't be back until September 9, at the earliest.  The Rangers will skip Scott Feldman's turn the next time through, since they have two off days in the next ten days.

The Hunter play

if MaxRam were at the dish, he would’ve faked arguing with the ref just long enough to entice Napoli to go for third and then out of nowhere he would’ve thrown a strike to 3rd and nailed Napoli by 5 feet. sigh

But I agree, letting Napoli advance to third was pretty damned ignorant, whether Laird had a legitimate beef or not (He certainly did). it is akin to Broussard running towards the dugout when he thought he got the call at 1st and the dude scored from third back in May.

Regardless of last night’s antics, Salty needs more PT.

What's the rumpus?

Do you think it really mattered if the guy got to third

i mean really, the rangers were not going to win even if no runs had scored in that paid off (or blind) umpired inning., and dats da facts jack!

10-18 in the month of August...

…not once this month have the Rangers fielded a line-up with Kinsler, Murphy, Hamilton and Bradley all in the same line-up.

no, money down!

Yep...

Shitty Rangers play + Utes beating Michigan = My interest in baseball deteriorating as we speak.

I will still watch all the games and some of the young players’ performance this last month interests me, but I find myself just using the DVR and watching the game in a hour or so now.
