Like I said, if you think a .260 EQA and good defense is acceptable from a starting COF, that’s fine.
I doubt folks would have said, before the season, that a .260 EQA, or a .315-.320 OBP, or a 775 OPS, from a LF or RF would be a great thing.

fine, he’s doing well for a rookie, doesn’t make him anything more than a 4th outfielder long term. This does not qualify as a “beef” with Murphy. It’s called objectivity.
Time you enjoy wasting was not wasted.

He’s still a ROOKIE. Give the kid a break when he’s not spectacular. I think we take it for granted that Murph is hitting as well as he is on this team full of very solid hitters. He’d be starting for about at least 10 other clubs in RF/LF. Calm down and wait and see how he shakes out in the next couple of years… jeez.

Um... not necessarily.
I don’t have any examples off hand, but I’d venture to say that guys like A-Rod, even back to Sosa, Bonds, etc. (steroids discussion omitted) hit their strides in their early thirties. Murph doesn’t have the wear on his body that a normal 26-yr. old has, and therefore the same comparisons do not apply here.

I’m not sure why Murphy wouldn’t have the wear and tear a normal 26 year old would.
Before he started juicing in his mid-30s, Bonds’ best years were from 25-28. ARod’s best season was at age 24.

But there have been exceptions, and you know it.
He wouldn’t because he hasn’t ever played 140+ games in a season. Not saying he can/will this season, but he’s on pace to play more than he has in his entire career I’m sure. That causes wear and tear on the body of a baseball player. Not sure how much simpler I can put that one.
A-Rod’s best season you’re referring to, I assume in 2000, wasn’t better than last season:

Pre-2005? A 4OF.
But I don’t see how you can say that a guy with a 106 OPS+ is playing like a fourth outfielder.
Again, just this season. If you think that he projects as a 4OF, that’s a different story. But this year, I don’t see how you can make an argument that a guy with a better WPA than Vladimir Guerrero is playing like a 4OF.
