Harold Martinez's Dad Draws Line in the Sand...
Not really big news, but Harold Martinez's dad says he's going to University of Miami unless given first round money. This was mentioned in the last day.

Don't let the door hit you on the way to Miami.
Hey Daddy Martinez, I would read the scouting report on your boy. He is FAR from a number one draft pick.
Hope your son enjoys Miami.

Martinez
He had a disappointing senior season but he has tremendous upside and might eventually be considered a steal for late first round money. I think we should make every effort to sign a player like Martinez.

I agree
First round money isn’t all that much if you generalize first round to mean supplemental 1st as well.

1st Round Money
Even then slot is only $1.2M. I don’t think that is to much to pay for someone with his upside.

Martinez
I love the idea of signing this player and JD’s regime favors infield talent…it wouldn’t be shocking if they got this done.
It would be a weird conclusion to the kid’s story, but he’d immediately be one of the highest ceilings in the org.

Martinez
i say give him low 1st round money, everything i’ve read says the guys got the talent to be worth that.
