OT: BaD Radio & Three 6 Mafia
For those of you that dont enjoy the greatness that is the Ticket, disregard this post. Also, those of you with no sense of humor, you may want to disregard as well.
For all the rest of you who may be in dire need of a break or some entertainment today, I encourage you to listen to BaD radio on the Ticket this afternoon. They have Computer, the assistant to Three 6 Mafia on their reality series Adventures in Hollyhood, guest hosting with them out in Oxnard at Cowboys training camp.
He's a big Cowboys fan and a P1. And he's full of radio gold. Ive been laughing nonstop for the past hour.

Part of one of the great lines in Oscar history
Jon Stewart, after Three 6 Mafia won an Oscar for best original song:
“For those of you keeping score at home, Martin Scorsese, zero; Three 6 Mafia, one.”

My favorite humorous oscar line of all time is still:
“And the Oscar goes to… Million Dollar Baby!”

Wonder
Which’ll get it this year. I’ve seen a grand total of one good movie so far, I think.
By the way, MDB was horrendous.

Very, very rarely are award-nominated movies released by August
November and December are “Award Season” for a reason.
Look for movies like Changeling, Revolutionary Road, the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, etc.

I get it.
But if you’re thinking those movies are going to be winners, then it really just reinforces my point that this year is a year of shitty mainstream films. Last year was decent, this one is looking quite shitty.
All of those movies look incredibly boring and contrived to me.

I thought last year was pretty damn good, myself
TWBB, NCFOM, and Michael Clayton were all fine movies, especially the first two.
I try not to judge a year’s movies until I’ve seen what’s coming out in late fall and winter, since that’s when the studios like to drop their Oscar bombs.
Dark Knight was good, though I’m starting to get tired of all the mouth breathers going super duper ga-ga over it and proclaiming it the best movie since the invention of the lightbulb.
Wall-E was good. Never thought they could make an animated film like that (and have it be massively popular, no less).
That new Coen Brothers movie looks really good to me, but I don’t know too much about it.
Probably other films will be good later on.
I hope.
I’ve never heard of any of the films VFN mentioned.

Hopefully
there is a Clint Eastwood directed film in time for the Oscars.

meh
Eastwood has done some good stuff in his time (along with some utter crap), so I dunno.
I might be alone on this, but I really don’t like Angelina Jolie at all.
What has she ever been good in?
I’ve never seen A Mighty Heart or Girl, Interrupted, which are supposedly her best roles, but I’ve seen her in a lot of shitty movies. Like a whole lot.

Best quote about Angelina Jolie
came from her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton.
“Sex doesn’t have to be with a model to be good. As a matter of fact, sometimes with the model, the actress, the ‘sexiest person in the world’, it may be literally like f** the couch. Don’t count out the average-looking woman, or even maybe the slightly unattractive woman, or the really unattractive woman.” – Billy Bob Thornton.

Transformers Two won't be out 'till next year at the earliest, so the race is gonna be wide open
Actually Tranny-Two may never come out now that the World’s Worst Actor In The History Of Ever (and probable anti-christ) Shia Labeouf has gotten all drunk, crashed his tricked out SUV and supposedly (maybe, possibly) lost two of his fingers.
Am I the only one who’s a little excited to hear that news? I mean, it sucks any time someone is injured, but he was driving drunk, which I have absolutely zero tolerance for, and he’s the WWITHOE. I’m just freaking pumped cause if he really does lose fingers then he might be in less movies now. Cause how many movies can you write in that the protagonist is missing fingers? I’m sorry, but any news that involves a drunken jackass getting his comeuppance and might ultimately mean less Labuff… that’s great news.
Oh and the US Weekly quote in that link is pure gold. He got in a car crash and then hopped out, danced around a little bit and then kept doing shots of whiskey as he waited for the police to arrive? No one is that hard core. Not even Rough Labuff.

Wall-E
Was amazing. Best movie I’ve seen in quite some time, actually.
Dark Knight was very good. I suppose I feel about the same as you do on that one.
Shine A Light, while not really a movie, was good as well.
Those are the keepers for me so far this year. I could do without everything else.

is a good one to rent. Best one i’ve seen in awhile. Iron Man kicked Dark Knight’s ass.

Lars was okay. Typical indie fare.
Iron Man was more fun than Batman, but I dunno if it was “better”. I don’t think so, personally.
I’m looking forward to Choke, Burn After Reading, Synecdoche, and Benjamin Button.
But who knows what will be good and what will suck ass.

Iron Man was more enjoyable. Dark Knight was a brooding epic.

Wall-E
That movie was great. So much stuff that’s over kids’ heads.
Plaschke: Scioscia, the former Dodgers catcher, is the model manager who has created an atmosphere of winning.
Junior:It's that simple. Mike Scioscia brings a Glade Plug-In labeled "Winning™" into the clubhouse and everyone who breathes it in gains 15 points in average.

+1 re Wall*E
Easily my favorite movie this year so far.
BTW, a lot of information about the award nominee type films can be found here.
I’m looking forward to Curious Case…, Frost/Nixon (although I doubt it can beat my favorite Nixon-related film, Secret Honor), Burn After Reading, The Road, and Synecdose, NY.

I don't get it
He’s an incoherent moron. Why is that entertaining? Of course, Bob and Dan played the “dorky white guy who thinks any rapper (or rapper hanger on) is cool and funny” to a tee.
I only get to listen during my lunch break and I had to change the station.

hmm
well, if you didnt find him interviewing Rob Lowe and telling him he’s “Toilet Seat” because he “gets more ass than a toilet seat” amusing, or his defense of Michael Irvin not ever having done drugs because the hookers were the ones that always brought the coke because “they have to have something to entertain them while they’re staring at the ceiling all day” then I dont know what to say. I find humor that there are people out there in the world like him. Maybe its lowbrow humor, but I laugh.
I dont listen to the Ticket to get my sports news and insights. Thats what Ive got the internet for. I listen because I enjoy being entertained. So if Bob and Dan want to have guests on that do stupid stuff all day long, thats fine by me.
And again, im still in awe that he goes by the name Computer. Thats just greatness.
Can I speculate that you may be rather unfamiliar with Three 6 Mafia their reality series on MTV?

Well in his defense
He did get the “exclusive” interview with Pacman. He didn’t ask questions from the other guys, but he’s supposidly the first press he’s talked to at camp. He asked him a few legitamate questions and it was cool in that sense. “Spags” who I usually can’t stand was totally put off by Computer. After the show he asked Bob if he was going to be there all season.
